Remarks
There are two ways of admission process that is through KCET or COMEDK. Those students who have Karnataka's domicile only are eligible for giving KCET exam. Otherwise, there is COMEDK which any student can give even Karnataka or outside Karnataka students. The eligibility criteria are available on the official comedk as well as on kcet site. In comedk, After the exam is done there will be the announcement of the marks and after that, there will be the announcement of the rank. After that, the counseling will start in which you have to submit your documents and after its verification, you can fill the colleges and courses of your choice on the given site according to your priority. And on the basis of your rank, you will get the course of the college you choose if it falls on your rank. There will be three rounds of counseling.
Course Curriculum Overview
To be honest I wanted computer science but my comedk rank was not that much enough to get that so I opted for electronics and communication engineering which is also very demanding nowadays As the technology is growing, the demand in this field is increasing and everyone knows that Bangalore is an IT hub so CSE/ISE/ECE are the three most demanding courses here as job opportunities are more. The faculty is nice, they really explain each and every topic very well, as the college falls under VTU so our college has to follow the rules made by them only. Here students and teachers are very serious about the academics therefore checking is a bit strict but learning here is awesome. They teach by giving real-life examples and also motivates us to explore this field apart from the book's knowledge. There are three internal exams and a final exam every semester. Internals has 40% weightage and finals have 60% weightage. It is not difficult to score here.
Internships Opportunities
I am a first-year student so I haven't taken any internships yet. But here many companies come in the third year and give internships for the students, paid as well as unpaid. They get very good stipends. And gives projects which are good for your resume.
Placement Experience
95% of students get placements here. CSE, ISE, and ECE students get higher placements than the other branches' students. Many companies come for recruitment. After getting the degree I will go outside India for doing my master's.
Fees and Financial Aid
Here per year fees of comedk students are 2,31,000. And for kcet students, it is 44000. They give scholarships but only st/sc/obc students who are from Karnataka. As I am a first-year student I can't get a job now. But placements here are very nice as Microsoft, Adobe, GE, Capgemini, etc like companies come for recruitment.
Campus Life
As the campus is in the middle of Bangalore, it is very small. There is no ground in our college but there are many clubs. Our college conducts a big fest every year by the end of June that is Manthan. Apart from this many other functions takes place that as Ganesh Chaturthi, independence day, freshers day as well as a graduation ceremony. There is not much to explore but as students here indulge in many clubs so it feels awesome by doing extra things also. Students can take part in almost three clubs. Rotaract club, TED bit, and samskruti club are the famous clubs in a bit. I am in the dance club which has three teams that is Midas, breaks, and infinity Amongst them, midas is the most active club and has great dancers. There is a volleyball court, badminton court, table tennis room, and carrom room. Our volleyball team has won many prizes for our college. But here the main focus is academics. Extracurricular are not much great here.
Hostel Facilities
You can register for the hostel directly on BIT's official website. The girl's hostel is in Jp Nagar which is 7 km away from our college. The boy's hostel is inside the campus. Both take 1 lakh rupees for one year. For girls, the hostel bus is there which runs according to its decided schedule. I have taken pg in VV Puram that is SAI BALAJI Pg FOr LADIES which takes rent per month according to the room in which you choose. It is only 700 m away from the college.
