IIM Trichy

one of the reason i chose IIM Trichy is because of the location. Im from Coimbatore, so instead of choosing IIM in north side or somewhere else in central India i thought it would be easier. there is no much difference in rules and terms, fees and placements.

In a term we usually do 6 courses this is the pattern that has been followed in the first year. In each of term 1 term, 2nd term and 3rd term we have 6 courses. We have got 5 subjects with 3 credits and 1 subject for 2 credits. So in the 1st and 2nd term we have communication. First one oral communication and 2nd one is written communication it is for 2 credits and in the 3rd term we are doing management accounting that is a 2 credit course. And remaining courses are usually 3 credit course. the evaluation components for every course is different it depends on the faculty. there are 2 exams conducted mid term and end term. the weight age for mid term and end term vary between 20 to 40% depending on the instructor. For mid term it is usually between 20 to 30% and for end term it can be between 25 to 40%. these two components has the higher weightage when it comes to evaluation. we also have class participation. it is usually for marketing and HR subjects. one more component is project for end term exams. the weightage for project is between 20 to 30%.

This year it is bit different i think most institutions like IIM Trichy also started the placements a bit late. gradually it went quite well so there are top recruiters visit our campus every year.The highest stipend last year was around 1.35 lakhs

Most of the companies visit us for the final placements. the median CTC was around 14.5 lakhs and highest was around 24 lakhs.

We have to be in quarantine for 14 or 15 days. I reached campus at mid December. But there is a lot of restrictions, we are not supposed to move out of the campus for anything so i cant really say how different it has been if restrictions are not there. Otherwise i say the facilities everything here is top class. all students are single rooms with AC and we have attached bathroom here and common bathrooms. Club committee are quite active. there are lot of events go on round the year.we have whatsapp groups they post important information every day from technical also. they are very active and conduct a lot of events.

Hostel facility is quite good. we have single rooms with air conditioner and we use during the night till 6:30 in the morning. Infrastructure is quite good this is the first time im staying in a hostel its a quite different experience. we had no power interruption and internet connectivity is also good.

i would say that WAT didn't go that well. It was tech related topic so not well versed in it. But the interview is bit unique, i was not asked anything about my work it was mostly GK and current affairs. The interview was very short it went just for 10 to 15 mins.
