Entrance Preview
SRMSAT , is the entrance examination of SRM University. Since the examination had negative marking I had to be very selective of my answers. In the end I managed to get an all India rank of 52000 , which could get me a seat. I chose this college as I wanted to do Biomedical engineering and SRM is the topmost University in India offering this course .
Course Curriculum Overview
The course that I chose is a purely research based course . Since I'm only in the first year of my course I've not experienced much of it . SRM definitely has every equipments that will be useful in research studies and to acquire physical knowledge.
Internships Opportunities
Yes, the college provides internships in various places in India as well as abroad. The stipend ranges from as low as 10000 to complete stipend.
Placement Experience
SRM through the years has been know for its placements . 2016 has been the year for SRM as it has bagged the most number of placements in the country . IT firms from cognizant to Wipro had their representatives this time to select the students . When you think of placements always think SRM .
College Events
Every festival is celebrated in SRM from Eid to Christmas and from Pongal to Diwali. Every religious beliefs are treated with equal respect . On the other hand there's techno fest every year known as AARUUSH which brings in different colleges from all over the country . The main event if SRM is MILAN , which is the cultural fest . Celebrities are arranged to attend this event every year .
Fees and Financial Aid
Since I've just joined the college I don't know much about the loan facilities available. Upto my knowledge scholarships are offered to the excellent students and the students with proficiency in other tasks.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel and the food facilities are not so good at SRM . The rooms are small but have proper ventilation. The washrooms are a complete mess , but due to the frequent maintenance it's sustainable. The management for the hostel is very good and organised .
Exam Structure
The exams out here are conducted very systematically. There's gap between every set of examinations. The only drawback is that the exams are continuous without any gap between two exams . The pattern is student friendly which enables an average student to pass in every exam.
Admission
The admission was quite an organised process . Everything was to be done online and the completed documents were to be produced at the time of counselling. From the fees to the booking of hostels were completely online . This shows the advancement in the use of technology in a country like india.
Faculty
SRM has over 5000 faculty, from young men and women to older scholars . Every faculty in SRM is dedicated towards their job and they see to that they truly justify it . Every department has its own set of faculty some of them specialised for a particular task .
