Remarks
After my diploma in Electrical Engineering, I applied for Engineering colleges in Nagpur for Bachelors's Degree in Electrical Engineering using the official online Portal. I was allotted with S. B. Jian Institute of Technology, Management and Research, Nagpur, on the first CAP round itself, from my top 10 preferred colleges. I was an Eligible candidate for admission as I had 66.48 % in my Diploma and I was of age 20. The admission process was very easy and it went smoothly I only needed to fill a form with my details and also submit some of my documents for verification.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose the Electrical Engineering course as I had already completed my diploma in the same and I am interested in Sustainable Energy Technologies. The Electrical Department of S. B. Jain Institute of Technology, Management, and Research, Nagpur had sufficient staff for teaching and practical lectures. The teachers were great at managing the class of 72 students. Many of the faculties have completed their Bachelor's degrees in Engineer and few senior faculties have already completed their Ph.D., some faculties are still opting for Ph.D. The faculties used to teach with the help of a projector by preparing a detailed presentation over a particular topic or chapter and the numerical where solved over the green board. The difficulty level of term exams where medium as the questions was from the studied syllabus and the preparation in the class was great.
Internships Opportunities
I was offered two internships one from Suntriya with a stipend of Rs. 1200/- and internship as an HR intern in Jmarathon Advisory Pvt Ltd. We had a few mini-projects which can help to solve minor issues which might be faced in daily life along with that I also had a final year project on "Generating Electricity from plants and sun".
Placement Experience
From 7th-semester students become eligible for the Campus Placements. Collabera, Buyju's, K12, Tresvista, Edwisor, Clover Infotech, Neilsoft, etc are the companies that visited our college for placements. This year's offer has been sufficient considering the pandemic situations. 7.0 LPA is the highest and 2 LPA is the average package offered as per company and profiles offered. This year it is I guess near above 40 to 50% placements. I plan to get a job and then continue my further studies along with the job.
Fees and Financial Aid
As I was allotted a seat in my first CAP round and I am from SC Category, I didn't have to pay any amount as a fee for my college, and also because I was applicable for freeship, I only have to pay for college for and nothing else. I have been placed in Collabera as a technical recruiter with a pay of 2100/- per month.
