Entrance Preview

I took PGCET exam on 2014 and I was 61st rank holder for the whole Karnataka state in that exam which was written by 16000 people.my score was 67 in that exam which had usual four parts of an competitive exams like General knowledge, aptitude, vocabulary, and logic reasoning. In the PGCET counselling I had the option to opt any college but as I had depended one some other person’s information.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

AIMS institute is affiliated with Bangalore university and the subjects of the courses will be completely controlled by the university itself. It is pretty good curriculum for the MBA students as we have basics in the first year of MBA and we have dual specialisation in the second year in which you can opt for the specialised subjects you want to do. In 3rd semester I opted for the marketing and the fourth semester.

Internships Opportunities

Each and every student has to do an internship and have to prepare a project report on their internship. And yes AIMS will get you the internship in whichever field you are interested. But it may or may not be a paid internship. That depends on the company. But AIMS will provide the internship for sure.

Placement Experience

1

This is where it lacks AIMS says it has very good placement cell. But it's not true. In my batch most of the finance people were not placed and for marketing lot of start ups come with very lesser package like 2.4 and the average package in the college is 3.5 but college says it is 4.5 and once you are placed to a company you cannot attend the other interviews. And beware you might get internship instead of final placements.

College Events

1

There wont be any events other than formal welcome and graduation day. They don't have any annual day or similar kind of that. And the campus is very small to organise any kind of fest or management fest. So there won't be any kind of fest that will be celebrated by the college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure for the PGCET students is feasible and for the management students it is pretty expensive as they charge them 10 lakh rupees for them. And you won't get the return on your investment. And they will suck your pocket like anything you have to pay around 25k as fine for a semester if you have attendance shortage. Like this they have various kind of fine structure and for the PGCET students it will be around 3.5 lakhs.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, you get scholarship from the govt. If you are below poverty line and the loan facilities will not be given by the college but you can opt for it in the other banks if you wish. Where it will be given as education loan. And the interest rate is pretty high for the loan amount.

Campus Life

0.5

Gender ratio will be almost equal but the campus life sucks here. You don't have proper college canteen and the college is in between industrial area and you don't have any places to roam around and only one basket ball court is available there. You can rate 1 out of 10 for campus facilities here.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is pretty week here because most of the second year student will not be in touch with first year students as they will be busy in their dissertation, internship and all and if you stay in hostel you will be in good touch with seniors otherwise there won't be much communication with alumni students.

Exam Structure

We will have 4 semester for two years. Exams will be conducted by Bangalore university and the exam will be pretty easy most of the times. And in Bangalore university you can clear the exam with over night study prior to exam day. And the results will announced after 3 or 4 months sometime. College don't have any role in the exam. And you will have the exam in the same college only.

Admission

After I chose this college in PGCET, I got the letter from PGCET board saying I had opted this college in the first round, hence am eligible to get admitted to this college and with that letter I went to the college. As I was PGCET student I had already paid rupees 50500 for the government through board so I was able to get admitted by submitting the seat confirmation letter and amount paid letter from the board to college.

Faculty

4

The faculty is the best part in this college. The faculties are highly qualified and they have in-depth knowledge of their subject matter, it completely depends on how much you want to learn from them. and they will teach you whatever the doubts you ask in their subject. but sometimes you will feel frustrated due the assignments they give but eventually it will help you a lot.

Placement Experience:

Placements in the college are good for marketing specialization. Compared to other specializations, from semester 2 itself, students become eligible for campus placements. Companies like Deloitte, KPMG, ICICI Bank, and HDFC Bank visit the campus. The highest package this year was 40 LPA, and the average package is around 6.5 LPA. The percentage of students getting placed is 70% for now. After getting the degree, selection in a good company is my plan.

Placement Experience:

The average package offered is moderate and there are limited opportunities for high paying roles compared to top tier colleges. Companies that visit the campus are mostly small to mid sized organizations. The placement cell is very supportive and conduct training sessions such as aptitude tests, mock interviews and soft skills development to prepare students for placements.

Placement Experience:

Placement in my college is decent, wiyh around 90% of students are getting placed. Students usually become eligible for placement in their final year and the college provides internships opportunities before that, which helps in gaining experience. Many companies visit to campus mainly from marketing and sales, along with some roles in HR and operations. The number of offer is good but option for finance and analytic are comparatively limited.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would like to rate the course 7 out of 10. Because as these is a distance learning many difficulties occur. I am doing a MBA in ksou after my graduation in b. Com. As ksou comes under UGT it is more helpful for the job seeker. As per my knowledge the faculty should conduct a more classes may be through online so that the working people can attend the classes from wherever they want. There are many distance learning courses in ksou academic platform but they are not handling in a accuracy. They take a lot of time to announce a results, even to conduct a exams they take a lot of time. The question paper are sometimes difficult and the question will be from out of syllabus which will be difficult to attend. Distance learning course is difficult to manage
