Remarks

The college overall is very nice, and the prospects are great. Surely the college moulds a person into a promising personality and make them a better and successful individuals of the society.

Entrance Preview

I wrote AIEEE in 2012, i got a rank of 7578, i wanted to chooses electronics and communication but i could not in 3rd round of counseling. I got EEE branch. Later in internal sliding i got ECE branch. I chose VNIT because it is 4th among NITs and near to my hometown after Nit warangal.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course structure is good. You have to attend some courses known as DCs compulsory and few DEs these are electives. We can choose what DE we want, at the end of the semester prior to the one in which you are taking that DE. You can choose subjects / field in which you are interested.

Internships Opportunities

No college internship. But you can work under a project of a professor. Every 3 rd year student gets equal opportunity for internship. Mostly through ALUMNI group of VNIT.

Placement Experience

4

Placements are good. Few get job offer from internships it self. and the 'placements season' starts at the beginning of 7th semester and continues upto end of 8th semester. the avg is 5LPA. the placement cell is bringing good companies with great pay scale.

College Events

4

VNIT has nice gatherings. We have DG, IG, AXIS, CONSORTIUM, AAROHIdg is deparental gathering all people in a department like in Ece get rogether and do some fun activoties, they play games and stuff. it is really fun. IG is institute gathering and in this all departments together play games and competitions and finall determine a winner. It lasts for an entire week. It is most of fun in alll the events. AXIS is vnits tech fest. Lot of competitions like robowars, coding games and bridge building etc are organised. It is also good. Aarobi is cultural festival and consortium is the management fest.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee is same as other nits. For my batch it was 70k for year including hostel, mess and college fees. i heard that for the consequent batches it has raised up. I think we should not worry about the fees because you will however make more money after getting out of the college after four years.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes the college offers scholarship to minority students and we also have Opjems scholarship for bright students from core branches. People who perform well in academics are rewarded by cash gifts given by professors of vnit. t he institute also provides laptop facility from second year onwards.

Campus Life

4.5

The college has its unique style of life. It is fun in college. Gender ratio is good. We have labs in first year bu from second year onwards they are department specific. Cse for example has the least labs and eee has the moat labs on entire college. the college is full of greenery. Our former president Dr. Abdul kalam has said that VNIT had great greenery when he visited the campus for AXIS the techincal festival of our college

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostels are good and well maintained. Food is average. Cleanliness is good throughout the college. Thanks to spick and span services they are very goos workers. They are responsible for keeping vnit clean and neat be it rainy season or winter. The 3rd 4rth and mtech hostels are like apartments. it oa very nice. they are building new blocks for new students.

Alumni/Alumna

It is great that vnit has such a good alumni network. There are some alumni meets for previous batches, our alumni network always strives to help college inmates. They give internship opportunities in 3 rd year. Recently they also started a course in entrepreneurship amd it was a huge success the participating students got to meet alumni who were very successful entrepreneur. in and around nagpur amd also abroad.

Exam Structure

Exams are not too hectic. We have 2 internals for 15 marks each, and one end semester for 60 marks. 10 are for teachers assessment. Mostly given by attendance, and some tests in class etc. Hia is completely in professors hands. Sometimes they also give some assignments and award marks out of 10 for these assessments. Although maths department gives based on the sessional marks out of 30. So if you perform well in sessional exams you gwt an extra 10 marks.

Faculty

4

Faculty is good. Although the number is a bit less in ECE department, new faculty recruitments are taking place, so currently there should me quite a good number of professors. Nothing to worry about. They are Very resourceful. We get good guidence and vision from a few professors. They are the main ingredient if the college is to be compared to a dish.

I choose this course because I have genuine interest in civil engineering. The faculty student ration is 1:50. Our faculties are well qualified they are master's degree holders in design and structural engineering. Some of them are PhD holders and many of them have done their master's from NIT and IIT. Term exams are scheduled after every 2 months. it is easy to pass because it consists of 30 marks only.
