Review for IIT Dhanbad Mining branch

The admission is taken on the basis of your JEE(Advanced) score only. After clearing jee advanced exam your counseling process will start. This counseling is done by Joint Seat Allocation Authority. The counseling process takes nearly 1 month time and after that, you will be allotted to college based on your order of preference and rank in jee advanced exam.

I opted for Mining Engineering from IIT Dhanbad not only because it is the best college for mining but also the faculty it provides is highly experienced and very highly qualified. Their teaching method is too good. Moreover, you are provided high chances for paid internships and placements at good packages.

Internships are given after your second year means at 5th Semester. Various companies visit the campus You can get internship after the second year of your college you can get an internship after the second year of your college

Placement stats for the mining branch concludes that nearly 91% of the total mining batch students got placed and others went for higher studies. Many companies will visit for mining branch and some are open for all students. Students here also get placed in non-core coding companies, finance, analyst,s, etc. You will be given a lot of opportunities to explore your interest and pursue whatever you want.

I am writing this review in 2021 and this year if you don't avail of any scholarship your fees would be around 1.25 lakhs including hostel and mess. Various scholarships are also provided based on your annual family income. For SC/ST students full relief in tuition fees is provided which is 1.00 lakh per semester.

Various fest, cultural events, workshops are conducted. Annually here 2 major fest events take place. Apart from this many other fest will take place including freshers party throughout the year. There are around 19 clubs in our college. You will enjoy being part of these clubs fully.

The hostel is provided with accommodation of 2 students in each room. A single room for one student is not provided. You can also avail of PG rooms outside the campus and accordingly hostel fees will be deducted from total fees. Mess food is too good veg and non-veg both options are available. Non-veg food is made 5 times a week. A non-veg student can also have veg food whenever required.
