As observed in a year - [DCRUST], Sonepat

I took admission in DCRUST, through state counseling (HSTSE) on the basis of my rank in JEE mains. I got my seat under the category HOGC(state quota) in Computer Science and Engineering. My rank in JEE mains was 41845. So, I easily got my seat in the CSE branch one of the best branches in our college. Admission criteria for CSE, a candidate needs to pass Class 12 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and Chemistry/ Biology/ Biotechnology/ Computer Science as an optional subject with a minimum of 45% aggregate (40% for SC/ST/OBC candidates) along with a valid JEE Main score.

Due to the Covid pandemic, there was a little change in the schedule of each semester. Our 1st semester started in November 2020 and exam held in the month of March 2021 (for the student those opt offline mode) and April 2021 (for those who opt online mode of the exam). The next sem started in May 2021 and exams were held in August 2021 for both modes of examination and were conducted at the same time. Most of our classes were online and most of the faculty was fully dedicated to their profession but some were a little bit irregular in their job. There is a lack of coordination between the faculty members of mostly each department. The exams were a little bit more difficult than the average paper. There were 9 questions in a paper and we have to attempt any four questions. Therefore the paper was made a bit lengthy.

Internship opportunities are provided by the university. A number of students get their internship through campus placement cells. Students got opportunities like internships in Paytm and many other companies.

As we are new and don't get the opportunity to know much about the placement part of the university but it does not seem to be too good, it's more like average although the highest package went up to 65 lakhs and the average package is about 5-6 lakhs only.

Fees for admission to the CSE department were not much. It is about 45400/yr in installments 35400 at starting of the odd semester and 9750 for the even semester. I didn't get any scholarship on campus also, I'm in 2nd year so don't have any job in my hand right now. But the placement of our branch is better than the average placement of the campus.

As we are the batch of the year 2020-2021, our campus life is not said to be started yet due to the pandemic, we went to university for exams and practical classes only. But there is a lot of social groups that interacted with us through online mode and also when we went University for practical classes. Our induction program was also conducted in both mode online and offline in which we were told about our campus infrastructure, societies, clubs like SWAG, GOONJ, SAWERA, PRATIBIMB, and many more clubs and societies which take care of annual fest and other festival celebrations. DCRUST University has its own shopping complex, gym, badminton court, football ground, basketball ground, volleyball court. It library is very large and is available online too.

There are 4 boys hostels and 3 girls hostels on the university campus. The hostel provides a single room as well as sharing with accomodation of almost 2 students in each room. Hostel fees are 4000/month for sharing and 6000 for a single room which includes mess, electricity, washing machine. For hostel registration, one should register on-site at www.ohrservice.com and have to pay hostel fees by logging in to the official site of University dcrustedp.in. Boys hostels are open 24/7 whereas girls hostel closes after 6 pm in winter and after 7 pm in the summer season. The meal provided in the mess is quite good and follows a routine timetable. In summer you are required to bring your own cooler according to your comfort hostel doesn't provide a cooler.
