I had always targeted to get into BIT keeping aside the fact that NIT Durgapur was missed by a certain percentage. The counselling process was done smoothly in a proper systematic way. The staff were extremely helpful in guiding me throughout the process. This course considers the marks of English, Physics, Chemistry and Maths. The minimum criteria can be considered as 65%.

My interest in statistics and maths drew me to this course and I landed here in BIT. The faculty is nice and helpful. Highly qualified and hence dignified faculty leading to proper scheduling of everything. Term exams are conducted just in time.

On-campus internships in this course are 50-50. It depends on you whether you can manage to bag one. Projects related to your own interests can lead you to a way. You can opt for research internships under the guidance of your own teachers or in any other institution depending on your wish. The teachers are very helpful and will guide you in a correct manner.

Students become eligible for the campus placements from the 4th year. It depends on the level of your preparation where and with what package will you be placed. Students here generally get placed with a good package in good companies.

I am currently in the 3rd year of my college and it is approximate 80,000 per semester. We have scholarships for financially backward students who ace in their academics every year. The criterion to avail of scholarship is a cgpa of above 8.0 in the current academic year.

The college seems to look so beautiful all decked for the annual technical fest PANTHEON, normally conducted during the end of the month of September and during the annual cultural fest BITOTSAV conducted during the mid of February. The library is a spacious arena with numerous books and a soft soothing environment to study. The classrooms and big with AC facilities. The sports arena is a well accomodated place which offers you various sports, from football to badminton, from cricket to basketball. There are numerous groups (or clubs) run by students: Dance Club. Dhwani(The singing club). SAC(the sports club). IEEE and IET(technical clubs). Litsoc, Unesquo, and many others.

Hostels are a mandatory part of the college life and BIT just understands so. There are two girls hostel in BIT. Hostel 8 is allotted to the freshers. And they are shifted to Hostel 9 in the next year. The food is quite good with a menu that changes each year as the hostel body is recruited .
