IIHMR University is one of the best colleges for healthcare management courses. To apply for MBA-HM in IIHMR one has to clear any management aptitude exam. I have cleared IIHMR U-MAT, which was conducted by the college itself. I was called for GD/PI after clearing the exam. Admission was based on the overall score.
Course Curriculum Overview
I have opted for MBA-HM (healthcare/hospital management) purely out of interest. Though I'm a medical doctor I prefer to work in the healthcare-hospital administration and management sector. IIHMR provides a strong foundation for the same as part of their flagship MBA program. IIHMR is an academic as well as a research institute. Internship programs are provided in various healthcare firms, government agencies like National Health Mission and hospitals. All students are guided by mentors which help them to make the best out of their internship programs
Placement Experience
In first year students will be placed for internship programs in various healrhcare firms as well as hospitals. Job placements start in second year. Almost 100% students are getting placed every year.
Fees and Financial Aid
The course fee is worth as we are getting the MBA from one of the finest institutes for healthcare management. Scholarships can be availed on a merit basis. The University provides almost 100% placement for students, both for job as well as internship programs. We have a strong placement cell to take care of that.
Campus Life
IIHMR University is one of the cleanest colleges in India. The curriculum is well organized. Classroom amenities and library facilities are of good standards. There are a lot of opportunities for students to exhibit their artistic as well as academic skills.
Hostel Facilities
There are separate hostels for boys and girls within the campus. The rooms are air-conditioned and well maintained. A mess facility is available. Hostel needs to be booked after completing college admission procedures by paying hostel fee for the first year
Interview Experience
The first step of admission is to clear any management aptitude exam with desired scores. After that, there was GD and PI as part of the admission process. GD topic was on the Covid-19 scenario and intervention of the health sector in controlling the pandemic. PI was mostly to evaluate aptitude, communication skills, general knowledge, and current affairs.
