Life at Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology

I got admission to the BTech program through Haryana counselling. In Haryana counselling, there are seats for students who have done class 12th from Haryana and are residents of Haryana for more than 12 years. Special quotas are also there for Kashmiri immigrants and toppers of government schools of Haryana. There are two counsellings if someone is unsatisfied by their college or stream then he/she may apply for second counselling. I filled b.tech in chemical engineering in Deena Bandhu chhotu ram university of science and technology as my second preference and I got admitted in it in first counselling only. Admission is based on a student's 12th class board exam score and JEE score. The combined result decides the admission.

I was interested in chemical engineering from the very start so I applied for it and it is the only university in haryana which provides such a versatile programs. Faculty and students ratio is exactly the same as it should be completely balanced and for the courses where student strength is more sections are there to maintain the balance. Faculty are highly qualified as most of them are one's who have done PhD in their respective fields. Examinations are carried out at a regular interval of time and question papers set are up to the mark and checking system is quite strict .

University works in the internship aspect also. Internships programs are available for students through the placement cell of the university. The university has collaborated with Internshala for internship programs. Summer internships are also available for students to enhance the resume

From 6-7 semester placements are available. A placement cell is present which handles this. Companies like TCS, flipkart visits campus. Placements are available about 80% and highest package offered is 29LPA.

I find that the fees structure is moderate and not so high as compared to other colleges with respect to facilities and infrastructure provided. The cost for one year for a day scholar is 45150. Many scholarships are available some for EWS, students getting top scores in semester exams. For PhD students stipends are available.

Rythm is the annual fest conducted and Technova is the technical fest which is conducted. The library is fully loaded with the latest books and journals even an online library is available. classrooms are moderate only. Basketball, badminton, tennis, table tennis and gym facilities are available. there are many social groups like LISOC which is the only literary society, for dance there are Punjab national groups and many, Savera is the group that provides free education to underprivileged students and for different purposes like drama, dance, music, art there are groups present.

I the hostel room there is a bed, table, chair and almirah are available. Meal quality is not so bad and not so good. The menu is wholesome which changes from time to time. Hostel registration is done through an online portal given by the university, hostels are affordable.
