So initially I applied for various entrance examinations and got selected in a few. I was able to clear exams like Comedk, WBJEE and VIT. Among these, I found VIT as the best option as it has a brand value and engages with various MNCs. So VIT didn't take any entrance exam in 2020 and students were enrolled based on their intermediate marks. I got shortlisted and applied for counselling which goes on for weeks and then I finally managed to get a seat at VIT Bhopal.
Course Curriculum Overview
I always wanted to learn to code as I was never very good at it so decided to opt for the CSE core branch. VIT Bhopal offers various programmes for students who want to learn coding and excel. But in spite of having a good CSE faculty, there is surely a lack of faculty members and they find it difficult to cope up with so many slots a day. The other day a faculty told us that there is a lack of 70 faculty members in the CSE branch and only 60 of them are handling it. Even though the teacher-student ratio is not too good but the existing faculty members are experienced and hold a doctorate degree. They expose students to various teaching methods and find effective ways to teach even though online. There is a detailed academic calendar that is shared with students right before the semester begins and everything goes pre-planned and there is hardly any change in that. Exams are pretty tough and one needs to pay attention in the classes as it surely is a task.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure of VIT is 1,97,000 per year including lab, assessment and everything excluding hostel charges. VIT offers great opportunities for students who want to study abroad or further in the country. Placements starts from 7th sememster and internship opportunities are offered right from the 1st year.
Campus Life
The batch of 2020 has still not been exposed to campus so literally can not comment on that but by far whatever I have heard from seniors it's an absolutely engaging and fun place to be. An annual fest is held called ADVITYA in which students from every branch come together and the fun begins there. ADVITYA is an annual fest but various clubs on the campus take care of students that celebrate their festivals in full josh. Other than this various fests are laid out by various clubs on the campus. VIT also take part in a lot of sporting activities and make sure the deserved ones go ahead and show off their talents field. Sports like cricket, football, badminton, tennis, basketball, swimming and a lot more is played at the campus and events related to these sports keep taking place. Also, there are various clubs like a literary club, dramatic club, social club, hiking club, robotics club, web development club and many other clubs.
