Entrance Preview

I did my whole B.com course there. Admission process is same as you see in other colleges for B.com.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

Bachelor of commerce course is very enjoyable course for businessman. I learnt quite a lot of about all types of business like sole proprietorship, partnership business , big companies, ngo's, MNC and others. Accounts is the best subject in bachelor of commerce course. Now I can understand any busuness or companies balance sheet.

Internships Opportunities

There is nothing like internship in bachelor of commerce course. For other courses they do have (industrial visit ).

Placement Experience

5

There is nothing like placements & job opportunities in bachelor of commerce course. You have to find job on your own. There are placements and job opportunities for MBA students. I have never seen any companies visiting our college. But I heard about 7 lakh per annum packages for mba students.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Compared to other college fee structure, kj somaiya college of arts and commerce fees was reasonable. I don't remember the exact amount but it was under 10 thousand rupees for all five years. But for backward caste like st, sc, obc fees was very less under rs 200.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarships are only for backward caste like st, sc, obc. There is no scholarship for general category students.

Exam Structure

For FYJC 50 marks unit test then 100 marks semester then 50 marks unit test then 100 marks semester. For SYJC 50 marks unit test then 100 marks semester then 50 marks unit test then 100 marks preliminary exam. For FY b.com 50 marks semester and then 50 marks semester. For SY b.com 50 marks semester and then 50 marks semester. For TY b.com 50 marks semester then 100 marks preliminary exam.

Admission

Admission process is same as you see in other colleges for B.com. I'm from general category. I scored high percentage in SSC (10th) examination. The merit list for general category of that year closed on around 74%. I heard from my friends that the college is good for studies and fun.

Placement Experience:

At TCSC placements are quite good as anyone. Even the SOBO colleges and Mithibai don't have placements as good as us. So this is why I always dreamt of studying here because since last 6-7 years, Thakur College placements have gone better and higher.

Remarks:

The good thing is that the college was not strict and was never forcing us to study rather it was seeing to it that it gave us proper advice and help us reach more towards my career goal. The bad part would be there were may staff which was very dull and was not kind, and no importance was given to correct their behaviour although it was evident by all.
