Remarks

Basically, all the colleges of University of Delhi is too good and reputed. I applied for all the colleges of DU but I got admission in Dyal Singh College in first cut off. After I got selected in other colleges too but I chose DSC cuz it was nearby to my home. I didn't avail any quota or reservation bcuz I'm of general category. The admission process is not so lengthy, process would be done on your percentage of best four subjects. I chose b.com and last to last anybody with 75% of general category can take admission in DU. I scored 95.5% in best four. There is no age criteria. After checking the cut off , I went to the college on the very next day and there were so many volunteers who guided me everything such where I had to go for Bcom. They told me the room no. And the way to reach there. There were 4 teachers who were verifying marks , application and other documents. After that, they start recalling names one by one and done the further proceedings and told to submit fees.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I chose Bcom because I'm a commerce student and love to play with numbers and have a keen interest in the accounting field. The faculties of Dyal Singh College are too good. Teachers are too qualified and experienced. Few teachers are strict too. Their teaching styles are impeccable. They are very dedicated towards their profession. DU has semester exams system and we have 6 sem. In 3 yrs. Exams are easy to pass if you are attending all the lectures and paying attention in the class. We had 60 students in Section A and approx 50 students attend the lectures daily and scored more than 8 cgpa in exams. Teachers are so helpful and supportive. They are not time-bound as you can ask them any doubts to them after their lectures also if they have no further classes.

Internships Opportunities

4

Yes, there are many companies which provides the opportunity of doing internship like BYJUs , Indian catalyst, Zomato , Fractal Analytics and so on. Some of the interships are paid and some are unpaid. The maximum stipend of the internship is Rs. 12000 per month. There are many projects like social media marketing, writing reviews for their products , some internships have calling like we have to make calls for brouchers and crack the deal for the same.

Placement Experience

4.5

Dyal Singh College has the best placement cell amongst all the colleges of University of Delhi. In 5th semester , students' are eligible to sit for the placement but anyone can start doing internship in the very first year of the college. Most of the MNCs visit our college like KPMG, PWC, TCS , Aditya Birla and so on. In my course, there are many job profiles like Audit Associates, Senior Analyst , Risk Analyst , Junior Accountant etc. Highest package = 15 lacs , Average package = 8 lacs , Lowest package = 5 lacs. Most of the students took placement and start their careers in the professional world and some of the students go for the further studies. I also think to continue my studies and get best IIM College and do MBA.

Fees and Financial Aid

The University of Delhi is mainly known for its quality of education at the very lowest fees as they don't charge big amount of fees to the students. Our annual fees is Rs. 13505/- which is very affordable. There is no extra charge asked in the college after taking admission. Scholarship are giving to the weaker section of the society like EWS , SC , OBC. Yes, college placements are also very good. Many reputed companies visit our college for recruiting students for their company like KPMG, PWC, TCS, Aditya Birla group and so on. The Highest package of the companies are Rs. 15 lacs per annum and lowest package is Rs. 5 lacs per annum.

Campus Life

4.5

Our annual fest named Priyadarshini was conducted in September but there are many societies fest held on the campus every month. We had 5-6 fests in a mont6 by different college societies. DSC has a very big library & all the concerned newspapers, magazines are available there. All the sports facilities like courts, equipment, grounds are also available for every sport. There are many clubs or societies run by students like Rotract club, Finanza, Enactus and so on which enhances students' skills and morale.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

For placements fifth semester student are eligible for placements. Since it is best commerce college. Companies like big 4, google, bank of America, Goldman Sachs, bcg, bain and co., Sbi, paytm, meesho and many more comes. The highest package was 36 LPA this year from meesho for senior analyst roles. Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...
