Remarks

One should have passed the 12th or equivalent course with minimum of 55% marks to join this course. I was an in-house student so I received a message from the college to fill up their form and pay the fees online. Mumbai University form and other formalities were done by the college.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

In this course, you will have subjects like cost accounting, financial accounting, tax, law etc. Many people who like accounts but don't like maths much leave this course thinking there will be a lot of maths. But for them no, you will only have maths in the second semester. Accounting is very important subject in this course. The exams are MCQ-based now with 25 marks in internals and 75 marks main paper.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

The college is trying to give us more and more opportunities now for internships. The jobs can be related to marketing where you may have to help with your senior marketing managers, HR job where you have screen the CV through various social media platforms, under a Chartered accountant etc

Placement Experience

3.5

We haven't visited any company yet. Though the college placement cell has kept various job fairs. You can apply for a job for the second year as well but mostly in the third year. I haven't applied to any of them so I have no idea of the salary packages offered.

Fees and Financial Aid

I haven't applied for any job yet. I am trying to get an internship first. The college I think has tied up with Internshala to give us more opportunities for internships and jobs. The fee is moderate with 37k p.a.

Campus Life

3.5

There are various clubs and groups run by the students and some teachers as heads such as English literary association, nature's club, NSS unit, cultural committee, etc. Even in this pandemic, the cultural committee has managed various events. Teachers have also conducted various webinars from the Bombay stock exchange, career guidance webinars, etc

Placement Experience:

At TCSC placements are quite good as anyone. Even the SOBO colleges and Mithibai don't have placements as good as us. So this is why I always dreamt of studying here because since last 6-7 years, Thakur College placements have gone better and higher.

Remarks:

The good thing is that the college was not strict and was never forcing us to study rather it was seeing to it that it gave us proper advice and help us reach more towards my career goal. The bad part would be there were may staff which was very dull and was not kind, and no importance was given to correct their behaviour although it was evident by all.
