THE PRACTICAL OVERVIEW

I applied for a b-tech course in the department of computer science and engineering of GOVERNMENT COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING AND TEXTILE TECHNOLOGY, BERHAMPUR. I didn't avail myself of any quota for admission as I belong under the general category. well, admission of the first semester of all ug b-tech courses is done by their ranking in the WEST BENGAL JOINT ENTRANCE EXAMINATION through e-counseling conducted by WBJEE, which is held every year.

Before discussing the course curriculum and providing the faculty info, let me take one sip of my coffee and begin to plot a brief image of my lovely college. in front of you.This college is under the MAULANA ABUL KALAM AZAD UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY (MAKAUT). Firstly, the administrative field is so well developed and works in a sequence chronological manner that it plays a vital role in students' life. The faculty members are too friendly and the teaching staffs are highly qualified in their respective fields. All the departments have good and highly experienced teachers. The strength in each department varies from 38-40. The exams are held regularly and the difficulties level varies from medium to tough. You are provided with daily assignments and thus get a pleasant environment to explore your knowledge, gain experience more and more.

The internship opportunities play a vital role in students' life. Generally, during placements when the companies come to our campus to hire students for jobs, students get internships opportunities and are stipend well.

So, if I start talking about the placements, then the truth is quite harsh for you There are 100 %placements in the Textile Department (highest Rs 16LPA from trident) and 50-60% placements in the CSE department. Students from the core branch get offers of only Rs 3-4 LPA in the Textile department. But for Mechanical and Electrical Departments the placement ratio is not that good. You will hardly get any placements from these two streams in other words. Apart from this, Companies like TCS, INFOSYS, SYNTEX, REYMOND, WELSPUN ETC visit this college every year to hire students.

As this is a government college, the fees structure is quite affordable to all the students who are trailing various courses in different fields respectively. Firstly, for the CSE branch, it is 13000 / yr, and for other branches, it is 6000/ yr approx. Well, students opt for different types of scholarships such as SVMCM, OASIS, etc.

Our campus is well designed and has greeneries all around, thus provide a soothing environment to us. You may have heard about the "Square Field", the most popular place in Berhampur, situated just in front of our college. Our college celebrates different festivals and organizes different types of events such as Teachers' day, Sports day, etc. The most favorite festival "The Saraswati Puja" is celebrated here gloriously. There are lots of extracurricular activities and different clubs respectively such as cricket club, football club, coding club, music club, drama club, etc, organize all the events in a sequenced chronological manner. Different types of fests are held every year, the most renowned fest Alfresco is held around July each year. There is Tech fest and thus this college creates a remarkable ideology in the minds of every student and sketches a beautiful image in their heart.
