Remarks
I applied for the University of Delhi, Lucknow University and BHU but didn't opt for these colleges their ranking was not good or their fees were high in comparison to GCCBA and more importantly, I was getting B.Com(H) program in GCCBA. No, I didn't avail any quota for admission but if anyone is from quota then they must provide all the documents like caste certificate or other certificates which must be updated within last 1 year and if you are from Bengal Board then you get special quota for admission. Admission criteria for GCCBA are that you must be 10+2 pass out with an aggregate of 65% to apply for this college for ug courses. As admission in this college happens on a merit basis so one must have at least more than 85% to be able to get a seat in GCCBA. College asks for an aggregate of top 4 subjects to get in the college. You can add optional subjects also in your top 4 subjects for merit. There are two timings for any batch one is morning and one is evening.
Course Curriculum Overview
I choose this course as it opens several other options for me in future and also I have to do CS and B.COM syllabus and CS syllabus are very much similar to each other which helps me focus on both the courses equally. This course is having integrated subjects that gives me proper knowledge. The faculty in our college is very good and helpful. There are around 40 to 45 professors everyone with at least a Masters degree with them and many professors are also having PhD degrees with them. They don't only provide theoretical knowledge from the books but also gives proper guidance for our further studies.
Placement Experience
There is a placement cell that invites some of the best companies in India for students. Students from the 5th semester are eligible to give an interview for a job. Around 30 to 40% of students get campus jobs in our college. I have decided to do CS and LLB courses after my completion of the UG program.
Fees and Financial Aid
As GCCBA is a government college its fees is very low that is 1160rs to 1200rs per year for B.Com(h) which is way too low and affordable than many other colleges. There are scholarships and financial assistance available in our college which you have to get knowledge about from the office itself. GCCBA is a very option when it comes to campus jobs as it provides some of the best companies in India like Wipro, Deloitte and many more. The average package students get is around 1.5lac to 2lac per annum.
Campus Life
The fest name is 'Quest' which is celebrated on our college campus. Books and journals are easily accessible in the college library so you don't need to purchase any. Also, several books shops near our college sell books at a very low cost. There is no ground in our college still we have our annual sports meet and we also have different teams which go out of college for competitions. There is a college union that helps every student whenever they are in need. The college is linked very well with different things which are around our college.
Other Applied Colleges
University of Delhi | B.Com
I didn't opt for this college because I was getting equally good college with B.Com(H) with less amo
