Remarks
The admission process is fairly easy. Aliah University conducts its own admission test know as Aliah University Admission Test (AUAT). Students who have been given WBJEE are also eligible for admission. - There is a total of 60 seats, out of which 12 are admitted through WBJEE rank and the rest through AUAT. - Lateral Entry of 12 students is allowed in the 2nd year, for students who have completed their diploma. - Admission process for students applying through WBJEE or AUAT is fairly similar, just the fees vary. - AUAT ranks sheets are provided nearly after a month, and within the given time, students choose their preference of branch and stream. - After a date, confirmation of the seat list is provided. - Counselling is done online and payment is also done online (since pandemic) - Document verification is to be made physically going over to college. - After the verifications, and fee payment, the admission process is completed.
Course Curriculum Overview
I always had a knack for tech and coding. and I knew taking CSE was the answer for it. The course structure is well constructed in accordance with the AICTE framework. The faculty is extremely helpful and qualified. There are around 20 Professors for around 250 students. The qualifications of professors vary from begin Ph.D. scholars from abroad as well as India, IIT, NIT, and other well-reputed colleges as well. The exams in offline mode used to happen properly in time in physical mode. Since the pandemic, classes, as well as examinations, happen online. Exams are smooth and hassle-free. The questions for end sem exams remain within the syllabus. If a student studies properly for 2 months before, they can easily pass with an amazing CGPA.
Placement Experience
Placements are not so great on-campus and students majorly get placed off-campus. Although companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, Amazon, Capgemini, and many more, recruit from our campus. Almost everyone who sits for placements qualifies. I am planning for sitting for placements after getting the degree.
Fees and Financial Aid
This is the cheapest college one could find anywhere in India. Only around 3,500/ semester fees. Due to the pandemic, considering the loss of lives and jobs of people, college even waived up the semester fees. Various scholarships for minority and poor students are available, like Kanyashree, etc.
Campus Life
There is no annual tech fest or any fests. This is the area where our university totally lacks. So if you're getting your hopes high for college life, be sure to get disappointed. There is literally no social life or fun activities here. No sports facility, especially for girls. This university is very backward in terms of extracurricular. There are no proper courts for basketball, football, badminton, etc. There is nothing for sports. The funding is not less for the university, but due to laziness and inefficiency, and corruption of the administration, nothing is ever done. Every year, the administration promises to build the courts, but they've never met. There are no clubs or societies run by students, but in recent years, students are trying to make one, but in this too, the administration makes it extremely difficult. There is too much politics on campus and is the only thing that is visible. If you're looking for normal college life, this isn't for you. You cannot have fun at all.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel rooms are relatively new and are probably the best rooms to be found in a university. The rooms are provided with one bedroom with a mattress, one cupboard, a table, and a chair per student. The windows of the room are large, so as to keep the room properly ventilated. Meal quality is like any hostels - bad! The menu is prewritten with one special meal per month. We get alternatively nonveg and veg. Some of the items from the menu are Rice, dal, egg curry, mixed vegetables, chicken, soybeans, fish, biryani (on special days). Items are fairly well, but they taste not so good. Hostels are provided on basis of rank and distance and not everyone gets it, so one has to be really lucky to get a hostel. Applications are to be filled online and documents verifications are done offline. For students who don't get a hostel, numerous PGs and mess are available just at the back of campus at very affordable prices.
