Entrance Preview

No entrance just SSC. The atmosphere and the vibe was wonderful. I knew I wanted to be here right at the time I was in queue for admissions.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course structure is amazing. There is a hardcore focus on research and very little spoon feeding. You are trusted upon to get the best possible results for yourself and people are more or less there to help you out as much as you need them. A very extensive portion of the subject is covered in the curriculum.

Internships Opportunities

There was a placement committee that took care of things. Internships are provided for courses where it is required otherwise the students take assistance from the placement committee.

College Events

5

Talash is quite popular. Internally we are keen on the personality quiz, Dhoom of HP, GSM, LDS debates among other things. We had a good time participating in these festivals. We also often win at Malhar, Kshitij, Umang and other festivals. However, we are always big on internal events and festivals.

Hostel Facilities

5

There are 2 canteens at Jai Hind and both are excellent. The food is available at a subsidised rate. However, things have changed in the past 6 years and as of now, a lot of brands sell their stuff out there and the old, lovely canteen people are no longer there.

Alumni/Alumna

You need to register as a member of the alumni and then you are a part of the network. You can keep coming each year at the alumni party. The seniors are very attached to the college and keep visiting it for a very long time.

Exam Structure

The exam structure is as per UGC norms. It was as chilled out as anything could be. We had enough study leave to prepare, an extensive library and teachers were always there to help us out if we needed them. Though Jai Hind is popular for tough papers, I'd say, it is good to have tough papers. It worked for us in the longer run. or rather for me, personally.

Admission

I filled in the form like everyone else and got admission. Back then 75% could make it to the Sindhi quota cut-off list! It wasn't a difficult procedure and a little back and forth had to be done to submit forms but all in all it was done. Once I knew my name was on the list, little could stop me.

Faculty

4.5

On a large part the faculty is good. They are quite open and receiving and do not bring their conservative attitudes to the class. They do not make our decisions for us and never interfere in our personal lives. There are absolutely no impositions. The teachers are extremely well versed with their subject and heavily experienced.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Quite substandard and below average. Prioritised rote learning over critical thinking. Just a rubber stamp for a degree. No actual education ever took place. Exams were anually or bi annually. Exams were difficult if you cannot write 30 pages in 3 hours.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculam is designed for all round development of the student and to make that person an expert in that field, these aspects influeneced me to choose it. Very well, with extra paper of real world application on each subject it ensures that we take something from the course and become industry ready The teachings methods and cirriculam are excellent I don't think any changes are required Exams are all year round, every month and are extremly difficult to deal with, as Xavier's bar is very high.

Yes, there is no specific place where we get to know that whether the college is open or not on a specific day like the day which has been declared closed by the government. The college doesn’t provide this facility for us. We have to move all towards our home to the college to get this thing.
