Toshi's Review On Maharaja Agrasen Institute Of Management Studies - [MAIMS], New Delhi

I gave the CET (common entrance test) to enter into Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management Studies. My rank was 306. I opted for MAIMS because It is know to be one of the prime institute of Guru gobind Indraprastha University and has the best campus compared to other IP University colleges.

The structure of my course is very good. The subjects are very interesting. There are 6 semesters which are divided into 3 years. Each semester has 4-7 subjects. The subjects are related to human resources, marketing, finance, data base management, html, MIS, quantitative techniques etc. These subjects give you a good knowledge about the way a company runs and what backend process is about creating your own firm.

No, my college doesn't provide us with an internship but, it does expect us to undergo a summer internship which we are suppose to look for ourselves. These internships are usually unpaid.

The placements of my college are not very remarkable. Only around 30% of the students really get placed. All the others usually look for opportunities off campus as the companies that come to college for placement aren't the best that they could grab. Companies like IBM, naukri.com, Royal Bank of scotland, Genpact, ICICI Securites come for placements.

The fees around 45000/- per years. Which makes a total of around 1,35,000 for 3 years. I think that the fees is pretty reasonable, but it keeps on fluctuating from time to time. It is also compulsory to submit an amount of security money which is refunded after the end of your degree programme.

There are no scholarship and loan facilities offered by the college. They only provide students who become top ranker in the university with prize money and certificate of merit.

The ratio of girls to boys is generally 4:6 . The students are mostly Delhi, or restricted to being north Indian students. The campus life as fun as you make it like any other college. The college environment is very secure and has zero tolerance level against any kind of misbehaviour. There is no kind of politics. Discrimination or ragging that takes place. The economic status of the students is mixed.

There is no kind of alumni network of the college. The college does not organise any kind of alumni meet or convocation ceremony due to which the student loose touch from college and they have been unable to make any kind of alumni network.

There are 2 internal exams and an external exam that takes place every semester, which makes it to a total of 3 rounds of exam every 6 months. Also, there are practicals, assignments and project works that are suppose to be taken care of. This doesn't really let you have time to engage into other extra-curricular activities. The college is very academically focused.

The admission process is not very complicated. We need to first fill the IP University form like for any other college then, give an offline entrance test. each student that appears in test is given a rank. After the score and ranks are out an online counselling takes place where we can pick the college we want to take admission in and if you match the colleges requirements you get the admission.

The faculty of my college is very knowledgeable and friendly. They are always ready to help and guide. The teachers are very well versed with their subject and try to teach the students in the best possible way. They try and make classes interesting by performing different kind of activities too. Each teacher is highly qualified too.
