Remarks

I applied to colleges like GCCBA, HERAMBA, MOLANA AZAD and JAYPURYA. Since I got admission to my dream college GCCBA there was no necessity for attending any other colleges. Yes, I have an availed OBC-A quota. The mark criteria were 85% above. The process of admission was very smooth. There was no counselling done because of the prevailing pandemic covid 19.

Course Curriculum Overview

I have chosen this course so that I can make myself competent enough to be inducted into West Bengal Audit and Accounting Services. I can't exactly answer this question as our offline classes are not permissible due to pandemics. I can't give any details about the qualifications of the teacher. The teaching process is very conducive and extremely beneficial. Exams were held on time. It wasn't that difficult to pass out for a good student.

Class Size: 90Course Fees: INR 1200 per year

Internships Opportunities

I have no idea which companies do participate in campus placements. To date, I haven't participated in any project as we are getting online classes only due to ongoing pandemics. I heard from some reliable sources that a few reputed India'companies are invited for campus placements and they offer good jobs with healthy salaries.

Placement Experience

From the 5th semester, the students of this college are eligible for campus placements. I haven't attended such placement meetings as physical classes were suspended due to a going pandemic. I have no idea of the packages offered by the company as I have never attended such campus placement. Around 30%- 40% of students get successful campus placements. To join in West Bengal Audit And Accounting Services.

Fees and Financial Aid

Since it is a Government College the fees are affordable to students from all sections of society. Aikashree, West Bengal Urdu Academy grant etc are the scholarship and financial assistance offered by the college.

Campus Life

I'm very unfortunate that I got admission to this wonderful college during pandemic years. Thus I miss the annual fest, tech fest, books and journals in the library, amenities in the classroom, a brief of sports, extracurricular activities on the campus, any social group,clubs or website for students run by students.

St Joseph's college a Decent one

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Placement Experience:

from 3rd semester, students become eligible for campus placement. Various Jewelleries company has visited, and even companies like Google, Tata and many has visited. As per i know the highest package were in lacs per month. The college provides 100% placement. After getting the degree, I'll do masters in business administration.

I did chose this course to learn more about accounting and finance and the cirriculum prepares you perfectly for the real world. SXC is invaluable to me!

Placement Experience:

Highest package of our program has been 20 lakhs. Companies like EY, DeShaw, ITC, CESC and many others which are multi billion dollar groups were the ones which are invited for placements. Batch size including morning and evening is of 400 students and nearly 200 gets placements in dream companies. Roles of business analyst and accounting are provided and SAP is taught in our college so those who know that gets job easily.

INSIGHTS OF GCCBA

Goenka college of commerce and business administration is the second best college in Kolkata and the best college under Calcutta University. Hence it has a brand value. I got admission offers in SXUK, Jaipuria THK Jain and Bhawanipur college, But this was the best option I had. The admission process is through your boards marks. Proud to be Goenkan

I got admission in Aliah University which is in New Town Kolkata I got rank 12. I applied in Shri Shikshathan College also and got admission in first list. I rejected both the colleges as Aliah University though it is a reputed college but the placement committee is not as good as Goenka College of commerce. I applied for BBA + MBA integrated program in Aliah University but I wanted to pursue BCom honours in accountancy and finance thus I rejected Aliah University. Shri shikshayatan college on the other hand is another reputed college in which I applied for bcom honours in accountancy and finance I rejected Shri shikshayatan college as no doubt Goenka College is way more better than Shree shikshayatan and Shri shikshayatan is comparatively very much expensive in comparison with goenka. Shri shikshayatan takes around 250000 tuition fee on the other hand Goenka College charges only 4090 rs for 4 years....Read More
