Remarks
I have met the cutoff requirement in the third cutoff list released by the college. The eligibility criteria for Bcom(Hons) at DU involve at least 45% aggregate marks in the 12th class. Most importantly, the candidate must have passed Mathematics or Business Mathematics in the 12th qualifying examination. However, there is no age limit.
Course Curriculum Overview
Our course curriculum of Bcom(Hons) aims at the overall development of the student in the commerce field. Focus on practical applicability with the inclusion of case studies prepares us for the corporate world. The final SGPA for the semester is calculated based on internal assessments, assignments, and end-semester exams. Exams are moderate and continuous efforts can easily provide above 8 SGPA. The faculty is adequate and well-qualified. They possess years of teaching experience and help students in knowing every sort of knowledge required for the future. Faculty to student ratio is around 1:15 which further enables easy learning without any hassle.
Internships Opportunities
College offers a wide variety of internship opportunities ranging from content writing to finance. Placement cell offers timely internships satisfying the needs of different students. Stipend usually ranges from Rs 5000 to Rs 15000.
Placement Experience
Students from the 5th semester become eligible for different placement drives. The highest package for the previous year is Rs 14 LPA. Big 4 companies are among the top recruiters of the campus. A decent number of offers are made by companies of which around 10-20% of students get the job.
Fees and Financial Aid
The annual tuition fee is around Rs 29000. It hikes every year from Rs 500 to Rs 1000. Moreover, hostel charges are Rs 16000, including rent and food. The fee structure is quite high but provides good quality education.
Campus Life
Apart from academics, the college provides students with different sorts of activities. College largely focuses on sports and games and has separate areas for different sports. The presence of different societies improves the social skills of students and helps them to gain leadership qualities. This ensures overall personal development. A huge library with a peaceful environment and a large variety of books make it a perfect place for reading enthusiasts.
