Remarks

I applied to Delhi University but did not find the university interesting enough as much as Goenka College due to more fees and far away distance. Also, I found Goenka to be the perfect government college in East India.

Course Curriculum Overview

I enrolled for B.Com (Hons) since I had always wanted to make my career in accounting and commerce. Goenka College provided the perfect environment to nurture my interest in the field. The faculty-student ratio was around 1:80. All the faculty were highly qualified and had mastered in their field.

Class Size: 89Course Fees: INR 3000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Students get to intern in various companies during the course of their college life. During my term, various companies recruited students for paid internships. The internships offer an opportunity to link theoretical knowledge with practical experience and get ready to face the corporate world.

Placement Experience

Our college provides the best placements under Calcutta University. Various MNCs like PWC, Deloitte, KPMG, E & Y, DE Shaw and Co recruit students. The average package offered is on constant rise over the years. The college has an active placement cell that assists the students and helps them bag jobs.

Fees and Financial Aid

If there is one college in the country which charges the lowest amount of fees, it can be none other than Goenka. The college charges just over Rs 3,000 for the entire B.Com (Hons) course. And even over and above the highly affordable fees, there exists a provision for providing scholarships based on merit cum financial status.

Campus Life

I still consider myself lucky to have got such a great friend circle in my college life. The social life here is just fantabulous. Seniors are very friendly and helpful. The environment is excellent for your development in interpersonal skills. The annual college fest 'Quest' gives students an opportunity to showcase their talent which brings overall development in their personality. The college students' union also undertakes contribution and help in various social programs. The library is well equipped with a wide range of books, magazines, and journals.

St Joseph's college a Decent one

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Placement Experience:

from 3rd semester, students become eligible for campus placement. Various Jewelleries company has visited, and even companies like Google, Tata and many has visited. As per i know the highest package were in lacs per month. The college provides 100% placement. After getting the degree, I'll do masters in business administration.

I did chose this course to learn more about accounting and finance and the cirriculum prepares you perfectly for the real world. SXC is invaluable to me!

Placement Experience:

Highest package of our program has been 20 lakhs. Companies like EY, DeShaw, ITC, CESC and many others which are multi billion dollar groups were the ones which are invited for placements. Batch size including morning and evening is of 400 students and nearly 200 gets placements in dream companies. Roles of business analyst and accounting are provided and SAP is taught in our college so those who know that gets job easily.

INSIGHTS OF GCCBA

Goenka college of commerce and business administration is the second best college in Kolkata and the best college under Calcutta University. Hence it has a brand value. I got admission offers in SXUK, Jaipuria THK Jain and Bhawanipur college, But this was the best option I had. The admission process is through your boards marks. Proud to be Goenkan

I got admission in Aliah University which is in New Town Kolkata I got rank 12. I applied in Shri Shikshathan College also and got admission in first list. I rejected both the colleges as Aliah University though it is a reputed college but the placement committee is not as good as Goenka College of commerce. I applied for BBA + MBA integrated program in Aliah University but I wanted to pursue BCom honours in accountancy and finance thus I rejected Aliah University. Shri shikshayatan college on the other hand is another reputed college in which I applied for bcom honours in accountancy and finance I rejected Shri shikshayatan college as no doubt Goenka College is way more better than Shree shikshayatan and Shri shikshayatan is comparatively very much expensive in comparison with goenka. Shri shikshayatan takes around 250000 tuition fee on the other hand Goenka College charges only 4090 rs for 4 years....Read More
