Remarks
The admission process was conducted by JOSAA and I got the seat into NIT Jalandhar in my CSAB round, that is, the special round earlier. I got NIT Kurukshetra, ECE branch and in the special from I got NIT Jalandhar IT branch. The minimum criteria to join the institute is 75% in class 12th along with an appropriate score in JEE Main.
Course Curriculum Overview
I already had an interest in computers and programming languages, so I chose this course. We have a batch size of around 120 students. The faculties are qualified but the pattern and the manner of teaching are not very good. They only try to complete the syllabus and not help us gain practical knowledge. Quizzes are held every 2 or 3 weeks and we have semester exams at the end of the semester.
Internships Opportunities
I was offered an internship in the field of web development in my second year of college. I was assigned a task to create a website for the organization. The stipend offered for the internship was 15000 rupees and the duration was around one month.
Placement Experience
Students who are in the third year of college are allowed to sit in the internships provided by the campus. Varieties of Companies visit the campus including some big companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Uber. The highest package provided is 40 lacs per annum by Microsoft. Amazon also provides a very pair package of around 35 lacs per annum.
Fees and Financial Aid
The cost of the study is appropriate I did not get the benefit of any scholarship as I was not in the EWS section. The students who are in the EWS section or the economically weaker section can get the benefit of various scholarships.
Campus Life
There are a variety of tech communities inside the college the coding culture is also very good. The coding clubs organized workshops every weekend. We have a large library as well and the librarian ma'am is very cooperative. Sports clubs are not very active. There is a special club or group named prayaas which is entirely managed and run by students of the college, which basically helps underprivileged students by helping them and providing free education.
Hostel Facilities
There are 6 small hostels and three Mega hostels for boys and 3 hostels for girls. The mess facilities are very good. There is separate veg and non-veg mess so the students who are not interested in non-veg food can have their meal in the veg mess. 10000 rupees were initially charged as caution money and subsequently, 30,000 rupees are charged every semester for a hostel.
