A Jesus and Mary Story

I applied for Delhi University colleges in general and Jesus and Mary college in particular because a seperate form had to be filled for the same. For my course , as compared to other good ranking DU colleges, JMC required a much lesser cutoff and thus i got it in the first list itself , thus saving me a lot of hassle and time. The admission process was quite smooth and well-organized and i could head back to my hometown on the very same day. The cutoff for Mathematics was 95%.

Mahematics was always something which i liked a lot and after school when i didnt get into any other engineering college and also didnt want to drop an year , i decided to persue honors in Mathematics itself. The staff at JMC are very well spoken and qualified , mostly with a PHD in the subject . there were different teachers for different disciplines in Mathematics. The batch which came in 2015 was a 70 student batch which was divided into two batches of 35 students each thus maitaining a really healthy student teacher ratio. We had a well-equipped laboratory for some subjects which required certain softwares to work on.

No such internship opportunities were offered by the college itself. For internships one had to rely on either online sources like internshala or personal sources , if any. The internship opportunities outside too were mostly unpaid until and unless one had a really good source or exceptional skills or if one got lucky.

students become eligible for placements from the 5th semester onwards. Various companies , both big as well as small visit the campus providing decent placement opportunities like Accenture, Deloitte, E&Y to name a few. Profiles like that of a junior analyst , team member etc were offered.

Studying at JMC is extremely cost efficient . The fee for my couse was just 6000 a year . Also, just within a kilometre radius there are PGs and rooms available , that too at a very reasonable cost. Campus placements and our Placement Cell is extremely great and hard working with many companies like Deloitte, E&Y , Accenture etc offering good fresher opportunities.

Every year the college annual fest Montage is organized in the month of February. Apart from this each department also has its own fest , Matherena being the fest of the Mathematics department. The library is well maintained and mostly all the books you require for your course are available and apart from that also various other books are also available. Various clubs and groups are run by students like the Entrepreneurship Cell , Debsoc, placement cell etc. Each of these also organize various annual as well as occasional events .
