Remarks
The campus (and facilities) of RAIT is by far the best under Mumbai University colleges. The ranking is also under the top 10 for colleges under Mumbai University. It offered a variety of courses and also opportunities apart from the prescribed curriculum, therefore offering a lot to explore.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course includes the one offered by Mumbai University. Apart from this workshops are conducted which the student can participate in to gain extra knowledge. 2-semester exams are conducted per year (8 in total) and 2 unit tests (internal tests - 16 in total) are conducted every semester.
Internships Opportunities
I did not opt for any internships offered by the college. However, students were given chance to enroll in summer internships. Apart from this, final year students are also allowed exemption from lectures if they are enrolled in internships outside the college or working on some project, with proper confirmation from the HoD.
Placement Experience
Placements mostly include MNCs like TCS, Capgemini, Tech Mahindra, and Infosys. Mostly all the job offers are for IT roles and not for other core branches. For students willing to secure a job in non CS/IT domain, their will be very less opportunities.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fees per year range from 1 to 1.2 lakh for OPEN category students depending on the course. Fees varies for SC/ST/OBC or other reserved candidates. No on-campus jobs are offered to BTech students. Financial assistance (TFWS scheme) is also offered to a few students with good academic record.
Campus Life
There are plenty of options for a student to explore. Various technical student committees for every branch like IEEE, CSI, etc. are present. Apart from this, there are various nontechnical committees (like SUC, Kalaraag, etc) and a separate sports committee.
Hostel Facilities
No on-campus hostel facilities are available for students. However, students have plenty of options to live as paying guests(PG) in Nerul. The college is close to both the Nerul railway station and bus stop.
