Life at BITS Pilani

BITS Pilani have amazing Alumni base succeeding in all kinds of fields ranging from Entrepreneurship to past CM of Maharashtra. I got a good branch ( electronics) so no second option came in mind. Their is a test exclusively conducted to enter this college named BITSAT. It is a computer based examination and score os shown as soon as you submit the test. Most of them are PhD from foreign universities. I didn't studied much at campus so can't say much on quality but one thing is sure they don't force you to study. We had 0% attendance policy giving us freedom to choose where we want to spend out time.

Their is one Practice School program in BITS Pilani as a part of curriculum. We go to internship in 2nd years summer break of 2 months. Then for 6 months in 4th year of college. I got to do decently paid Product Management Internship in a bengaluru based Edtech startup. I got not so good CG yet they gave me such a good internship.

Student becomes eligible to opt for placements in 7th or 8th semester. Half the student sit in first sem and the remaining on the other. It's choice of students to opt for the sem. It is very tough to remain unplaced at BITS Pilani, you have to put in lot of hard work to not have any company give placement to you.

Fees was 2 lakh tuition fees per sem. +20. Thousand for mess and hostel for the semester. Food is super good in breakfast and lunch, you will forget your home cooked food. Dinner is not that great you can eat on food outlets within campus. One scholarship is given one the basis of merit to students who parental income is below 8 lakh per annum. Even if you score average CGPA of 6 than you get 25% off in fees. As the CG increases to 7 it further gets increased to 50%. Above 8 it becomes challenging to score.and fees gets further reduced.

There are all kinds of clubs and departments managing various events ranging from Technical fest to India's second-biggest cultural fest Oasis with a budget of Rs 1.65 Crore, all managed by the departments.

This is as good as a Hotel. You can yourself have a look on google maps. Washrooms are very well maintained.There are two sections to play sports within the hostel and they are as large as 4 volleyball courts.

Every company has its own way to select candidates. Ex- Coders Exp a coding test, can be easily prepared from any leading portal like GfG or Scaler academy's interview bit. Tier 1 Consulting companies giving 12-24 lpa may focus on group discussions Product Managers experience guestimates can be prepared from Case Interviews cracked youtube channel by IIT Bombay graduates working in BCG.
