Remarks

One thing I noticed is, if you want to enjoy concerts, live shows, music nights and many more western events then DU is better than jamia. But if you want to enjoy campus life and you are serius for your studies then Jamia is for you.

Entrance Preview

Jamia conducts it's own examination for admission in various courses. Paper is of 100 marks and they provide a list of selected and Wait listed students. I opt for this college because of few reasons - 1. It's a central university 2. It's in new delhi where u can learn lot of things 3. Fees is damn low and you will be shocked 4. Campus is awesome, better than private colleges too 4. Jamia is itself a brand.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Course is structure is good. Whole course is divided into 6 semesters of 6 months each. In every sem we have to study 5 or 6 subjects. For the first 2 years English is compulsory but it's good for us because it is a scoring subject. For the first year urdu basics is also there in the course.

Internships Opportunities

Yes they provide internship if you want to do. Not to every student but few who are really interested got internships. I did my internship with fanzoop, yakk communications. Stipend was not good because I did it just for a experience. I got just 1000 rs. And a certificate of completion.

Placement Experience

3

Few companies visit every year for hiring bcom graduates. So if you want to work after bcom you will get jobs from here. We are in 5th sem and few of my friends got placed in AON Hewitt. Many of the students are not interested in job after bcom. Many want to pursue post graduation so they don't apply for job but those who are interested can get easily.

College Events

4

There lot of events, fest celebrated in jamia. Our department fest is commercialese in which we enjoy alot with lot of activities, games and events. Miraas is the annual fest of university which is celebrated by jamia every year. Other departmental fests and other events are also there where we enjoy alot.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee is very low because it's a central university. Our fee is just 5900 per year. And the facilities we are getting is much more than private colleges. So according to me you will never get such a ROI in Delhi. Your mobile expenses will be more than its fees I am sure. Fees is just 500 per month which is incredible.

Fees and Financial Aid

They offer scholarship to few students. Not to every one. Only obc, SC ST are eligible but I am not sure of that. Few of my classmates got scholarships. So scholarships are available that I a. I sure but not sure abt it's details.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus life is damn cool as we have awesome campus. We sit in the campus till evening and enjoy various things like coffee, sports complex etc Central library is awesome its a 4 floor library with lacs of books. Well managed and organized. We play at sports complex. There is table tennis, badminton court, basketball court, football ground, cricket ground etc. Sports complex is a bigger attraction of this university. In my class there around 20 girls and 30 boys.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Seats are few in hostels so only few can get. This is the biggest disadvantage as all of applicants can't afford outside. But yes you can get accommodation at low cost also behind the university. Batla house, zakir nagar, abdul fazal, kalindi kunj these are the areas where you can easily get cheap accommodations. If you want to live in good areas then nfc, Govindpuri nehru place are the nearest places.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are really very helpful and frank. They are always ready to help out juniors and share there experiences like how to deal with this teacher, how to behave in front of this and that teachers etc. They share their notes and past exam papers. So they help alot.

Exam Structure

There will be two Sessional exams and one semester exam in each semester. Best of the 2 Sessional will be added with the sem result. Semester exam will be of 75 marks and rest 25 marks will be of your Sessional exam. If you have attended the classes you will not find any difficulty in the examination.

Faculty

4

No doubt, faculty is damn good. All of the professors are highly qualified. They pursued PhD. They have better techniques of teaching and interacting with students and they are highly professional in their subjects. They are very interactive and very frank with students so we can clear our doubts anytime when they are available.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

For placements fifth semester student are eligible for placements. Since it is best commerce college. Companies like big 4, google, bank of America, Goldman Sachs, bcg, bain and co., Sbi, paytm, meesho and many more comes. The highest package was 36 LPA this year from meesho for senior analyst roles. Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

The placement is quite good the percentage of students is not same always it changes but only those students with proper knowledge, experience, skills get good placement. There is a proper placement cell for this which is very active. Prepare for government exams (SSC, UPSC, etc.) Go for higher education (PG, B.Ed., MBA, etc.) Enroll in skill-based or professional certification courses outside college

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...
