GNDU (Amritsar) College Tour

Reason for me to choose this University over others included various aspects like fees is not that high than other universities , good faculty , good infrastructure , library , adminstration and facilities that this university provides made me to join this college. But the Placement is bit concerning aspect right now as average package is 3 lpa and hope that this improves by time. Another point i would like to add most of studies have to be done by us only as college staff will not teach subjects in detail. Gndu provides excellent opportunities to student in each and every field and myself wanted to explore more by trying new things and also lush green campus and there campus really encouraged me to join this college over any other university. Freshers live was one of websites i used while selecting this college.

I choose Computer Science and Technology over any other course as I always wanted to get into technology and learn more about latest technology and Information technology is the future. What i feel directly or indirectly we will be dependent on technology in near future. Unless any other college , student ratio is quite good as ratio is 58 : 42 as for every 100 students there are 58 boys and 42 girls in college. Qualification of the faculty in GNDU is Ph.D from a recognised University or Master's degree with at least 55% from a recognised University. Review Teaching method including both smart board and white board for studying purpose. Term exams took place twice in a year and around 8 semester in btech for all branch. If you do well in class test and gave proper attention in class with some revision at home side by side then it won't be hard to pass the exam. But it's really difficult to score good percentage.

No , I personally didn't opted for any internship, neither this college provides any on campus internship so mostly students from my batch applied for internship offline. I did my internship from mohali in a startup company and that internship was unpaid internship. Projects included support work as well as managing websites of company and maintaining data records.

From 7th semester students are eligible for campus placements and student can apply accordingly. Mncs visited to our campus included TCS digital, Coforge, Hexaware Technologies, KPMG , Capgemini, Amdocs , SRF and Amazon. Average Package is 3 lpa and Highest Package offered by Amazon is 13.5 lpa . I got placed in TCS Ninja and annual package of 3.3 lpa .

Fees that Guru Nanak Dev University took in first year was around 1Lakh and each year there was hike from 7 - 9% and depending on same tution fees was charged. Cost to study is decent and tution fees is not that much as compared to other recognized Universities. Scholarships that this college offer are Mahest Dutt Bhalla , Jaswant Kaur Bhalla Scholarships and Harnam Singh Sihota Memorial Scholarship , Ishita Merit Scholarship and Balram Kaur Scholarhip can be availed by students from funds created by the University.Financial assistance for poor kids to provide opportunities for higher education. Around 7800/ month for 4 years for technical courses. Single girl child scholarship for a period of two years in support of post graduate education.

Three day national level techno cultural festival named Polaris conducted by GNDU in Mid october. Another tech festival organised by department of Electronic technology named TACKYON in april. Tech fest included events like Robo Rush, Electro Hunt , Robo War and Tractor Pull. Library in GNDU named Bhai Gurdas Library included 87 Foriegn and 146 Indian Journals and library is a member of INFLIBNET UGC Infonet e-journals Consortium Programmer providing access to 7500+ e journals and databases. Sports activities in GNDU includes Cricket, Football , Yoga and includes gym for health and fitness as well. There is separate ground for every sport activity. MYAS is one of social groups run by MYAS GNDU and students have to register to enroll for respective course.

I didn't went to hostel as i was a day scholar and travelled from my home to college on daily basis. I preferred travelling updown each day over staying in hostel and it took around 30 minutes to reach college and campus is spread across over 500 acres in Amritsar. Few friends who stayed in hostel gave a positive feedback related to hostel and charges are also quite nominal and students have to visit college official website to apply for hostel accomodation and mess quality is okayish as any other college mess.

No GD, interview question or online / written test required for get admission for this college. Selection criteria during is based on CBSE marks and JEE Main score national entrance test held by government. Candidate have to fill GNDU application form online on the official websites of the University. Counselling process and further shortlisting rounds starts in mid june and ends till july and on basis of collective score of cbse as well JEE main and candidate is shortlisted based on cumilative score. When it comes to preparation i gave enough more time while preparing for school boards and targeted NCRT book first and then for competitive paper i did solved model papers and previous 10 year question paper as well.
