Entrance Preview
It was AIEEE at that time and my rank was 70000. I got the seat in PTU counselling. There was no interview as such. It was just the exam and the seat filling procedure. The college is a well reputed one in Punjab.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course was very good. You get to learn from a very experienced faculty and well versed with the course. The learning experience was outstanding and I was very happy with how the time passed in the college. There are fests and there are co curricular activities to support your theoretical stuff. You get to involve yourself in projects and in different stuff where you learn alot .
Internships Opportunities
No there are no internships provided in the college. The students enrolled in some courses are given internships therein in the vacations meant for a month or two.
Placement Experience
I got placed from the college in the final year of my course. So I can say that placement chances do exist. But there were many others of our course who were not placed. The placement is very high in IT, CSE, ECE but less in mechanical and civil engineering.
College Events
The different events celebrated here are Youth fest - the youth fest is the biggest cultural fest in the university. The college ranks one in the records of the fest. There are different events in the fest. Technical fest- the technical fest has a technical crisp to it. The event goes on for three days.Sports events- the different sports have different venues of competition. Basketball, tennis, cricket, badminton and TT are predominant.
Exam Structure
The exams are carried out semester wise. The semester exams are carried out by the university itself. In the semesters mid sem exams are taken thrice every semester by the college authority. Two mid sem tests have different syllabus but the last mid sem test has the entire syllabus in it. So before the final exams you get to prepare the entire syllabus.
Admission
There was this online counselling form which I filled after clearing the exam. I wanted to stay in Punjab itself as it was my home state. So I filled the online form, got enrolled in the counselling process and then waited for the different rounds. In the first round I got seat in CGC, landran but I did not want to get admitted in the college as it was quite far from my hometown.
Faculty
The faculty is very experienced especially in mechanical and civil branches. All the faculty are full of knowledge and experience and will help you in every field you seek help in. Not only the book stuff but also the practical stuff, the labs, the co-curricular activities, etc. They all are very cooperative. Help is never denied in DAVIET.
