Startup Hub-Sahyadri College of Engineering

I applied to only this college as it was my first preference. I got a seat through Kcet exam. My program didn't have any cutoff since it was a new branch. After Kcet results were published I had counseling which was conducted in online mode due to covid. I reported to the college for the admission process on the day which was instructed by KEA who conducted Kcet exams.

I chose this course as I am interested in those trending technologies. Right now am in my first year we have 10 faculties and my student strength is 48. Few faculties are having Doctoral degrees and the rest others have PG degrees. Their way of teaching was average and ok. Exams were once in a month (Internals) due to covid.

A wide range of internship opportunities is being provided by the college. Students get internships in Startups, and also companies like Cohesity had recruited students as interns. Can't answer more about this as I am in 1st year.

Placement cell is one of the best departments in our college which ensures many students gets placed. From the 6th sem students become eligible and the company starts visiting. Many tech giants like Amazon, Microsoft had recruited the students. Many students also got placed in top service-based companies like Tcs, Infosys, etc. The highest package was 40 LPA which was offered by Microsoft in the year 2021. Sahyadri is also a hub startup with in-house industries where students can learn industrial skills and come out with great startup ideas.

Fees structure varies for management students ranging from 1 lacs to 3 lacs depending upon merits and courses. Students who get admission via Kcet exams have a fee structure determined by KEA(Govt.) which was 65340(in 2020) + College fee which was 35220. Our college has a special team that will assist us with various scholarship programs. The college will also provide student loans if required. Most importantly we have a placement department that focuses on training students to get placed in the best companies. I would like to rate the placement department 9/10. Many multinational companies have visited out campus including Amazon, Google, Microsoft, etc.

Life at Sahyadri is awesome. If you are a student who is interested in extra-curricular activity it's a good college. From Freshers day to other Annual fest are conducted at college. It has a huge spacious library where you will get whatever books, magazines you wish to read. Sahyadri is also forefront in conducting sports events every year from Cricket league to Football league, athletics, indoor sports, etc. Our college has many clubs like SOSC(Sajyadri open source community), Mozilla club, GDSC, etc where students develop themselves.
