Glimpse of CU Himachal

The college is best options who want to pursue their dreams in any field of engineering. But those who want a big campus its not the right place though it doesn't matter that much I guess.

By IIT JEE exam in which I scored 36 marks And as far as the question about opting this course is concerned my family insists me to join engineering.

The course curriculum is much better.As in first year there is not much to do related research and stuff. But in higher years what I observed is our seniors are into lot of innovative and setups type stuff. Which sounds great that they allow you to exercise your brain at its fullest. And end no. Of workshops regarding startups, Innovative work and there patent stuff is organised each month.

As I am in first year I don't have much knowledge about this. But, yes as about companies who have visited were Infosys, HP, mahindra and mahindra etc.

The placement numbers are satisfactory and the packages too are satisfactory. As this year one student who came with flying colors got package of 24 lac/yr by flipkart And average for CS its around 4 to 5 lac/yr and ECE 3 to 4 lac/yr Companies like HP Infosys Flipkart Amazon etc were here for the placement purpose.

The biggest event is Algorithm in which across the nation universities are here to participate in more then 50 events like Modelling, technical fest, debates, dance and singing competitions and much more to count.Other one is Hostel Night.Freshers party And the all the festivals are celebrated of all the religions.

The Fee is around about 2lac per year for education and 43k for hostel for one year which includes your laundry services and meals too. Which is average as compared to other private university of northern India. And for day scholars only 5 to 10 thousand is more or less that too vary in bus charges as hostel services for hostlers.

The fee of topper of a batch of each year is off which means full fledge scholarship for student who tops his or her class of each year.

The campus is ragging free which is very very great asset for the freshers. Seniors are too frank with juniors. Regular sports events are conducted in every year like football basketball volleyball competitions and indoor games competitions are too there. And the teams of each games are sent to compete in other colleges. Athletic meet is also there even Marathon competition is also there. Now about the literary activities debates,declamations group discussions are there.

Hostel facilities are really awesome like free wifi is there that too 4g and video hall for watching tv. Bathrooms are well maintained and the hostel are neat and clean as daily sweeping services is there. Water cooler included with purifiers attached for every floor are there.

The alumni came and intract with the students and they stay in touch for any help required. Officially alumni record is kept.

The Exam schedule out here is not too hectic and not much pressure is there to handle in exam time but still it is high time in whole year. And in Lab exams external examiners came to conduct the practicals and exam related to it. Rest students even enjoy in exams too as they never miss the gym timings and football field never looses its grace.

About Faculty on overall basis I think they are average. Because some are good at teaching some at conducting or making good environment in the class room some still struggle with students. Overall if we see every one is trying there best to lift the standards of the education system.
