Karnataka Pre University board exams and Karnataka CET. I scored 280/300 (PCM) and 118/180 in the CET. Choose the college as I was interested in mechanical engineering only and had heard a lot about how it is the best.
Course Curriculum Overview
If you're looking in a complete academic point of view and not interested in any other sort of activities, this college must not be a bad choice for you. Mechanical, Civil and CS branches are pretty good. The attendance factor is not a big issue either and it is a pretty chilled out college, not all that strict in terms of clothing or hairstyles.
Internships Opportunities
You will be allowed to take up internships between semesters. College will provide you with a letter of consent, though the internship is not provided by the college. You can look up and find one for yourself.
Placement Experience
Placements for CS, IS, EC branches are great. There's a 100℅ placement record to those branches if you are eligible. However, the same cannot be said about Mechanical, IEM and Civil. The placements for these branches are poor and you need to be really amongst the best to get placed. However you can get an IT job.
College Events
Again, this is not much of a cultural or extra curricular activities based college. There is a fest every year and few tedx events. Annual sports and even college teams for vtu. If you're not interested, you wouldn't even know about their existence. There is no college ground. It's in the core of the city. Apart from the buildings there's hardly any space to even walk around.
Exam Structure
Exams are vtu based. An internals every month, that is 3 internals in a semester of 25 marks each. The best two would be considered and averaged to 25. Moat of the times you get a hint of these questions by the lecturer in the classroom itself. The evaluation is fair and reasonable too. The bigger thing is the 100 marks externals paper set by the board.
Admission
After the CET, I was given a rank. Then the online entry method and about 3 rounds later I got the college I wanted. Admission process is fairly simple, filling out a few usual personal details and previous board examination marks. If you're not from Karnataka, then it might take a few other documents. Your state board examination results included. Not all that difficult a procedure though.
