Remarks

I had applied to different colleges at the time of my admission process. My priority was a women's college so I had decided to choose from either Maitreyi college, Janki Devi Memorial College, or Kamala Nehru college. But after satisfying the cutoff and knowing details about them, I took admission into Kamala Nehru college. I had availed SC quota for admission. For admission into BCom(P), I had to match the cut-off list released on the basis of class 12th examination marks. The entire admission process was smooth and simple, and no such challenges were faced during that time. However, you have to just remain patient during the process as it can take around 3-4 hours. Documents required at the time of getting admission is the 12th mark sheet, 12th provisional certificate, 10th mark sheet, and most importantly, the caste certificate if any.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum of BCom focuses on providing informative insights about the commerce field that are applicable in future jobs. Being an informative course, I chose it in order to gather both theoretical and practical knowledge about marketing, accounts, finance, and others as well. The faculty is experienced and supportive. They teach every aspect in a student-friendly manner and always aim to clear every doubt of students. They make use of assignments and tests to evaluate the internal assessments. It becomes quite easy to score good SGPA in end-semester exams because of the faculty's guidance. The faculty to student ratio is 1:15. Regular studies can enable a student to attempt every question of the semester exam without any difficulty.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Internship opportunities are available at Kamala Nehru College. Students from any course can apply to them and the placement cell provides regular updates related to internships. The major recruiters that come to campus involve Decathlon, Yes Foundation Crumples paper, Aashman foundation, Umeed Consumers India, etc. The job roles offered in different profiles include sales, digital and social media marketing, content writing, graphic designing, etc. Stipend up to INR 10,000 is also provided to students. Last year, the highest stipend of INR 10,000 was given.

Placement Experience

4.5

The Placement cell of Kamala Nehru college is very active and regularly comes with placement opportunities. Students from the final year become eligible for placements. The placement cell brings a good number of job positions and profiles to students. Several reputed and renowned companies like Wipro, Zomato, BYJU's do visit the campus every year. The average package of the college remains around INR 3 Lacs per annum and the highest package can go up to INR 8 Lacs per annum. Moreover, the percentage of students getting placement is around 20% of the applicants, which is a good number. My further plans after my degree involve pursuing a master's degree in the commerce field.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure of Kamala Nehru College is reasonable and feasible for students. The fees amount is decent when compared to other DU colleges. For the three-years BCom(P), I paid around INR 12500 per year. However, no hostel facility is provided by the college but good PGs are available in the area. The charges for them are around INR 8000 to INR 15000 depending upon the facilities provided by the hostel. Financial assistance is also offered to students belonging to students from weaker sections like OBC, SC, and ST.

Campus Life

4.5

When it comes to campus life, I am sure that you will never get disappointed. It is very amazing. The infrastructure of the college is decent. Greenery or the garden area is an aspect that makes the campus more beautiful and makes you feel energetic. The college further has a good library space and books are available in a large number that students can issue according to their interests or needs. The college canteen, as well as the food provided, is pretty nice and tasty. The sports facility is another good thing as the college provides proper equipment to encourage students for different sporting events. ULLAS, the annual fest at Kamala Nehru College, is organized every year in the month of February. The college has different societies that any student can join as per their interests.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...
