Hemlata Singh's Review On Birla Institute Of Technology - [BIT Mesra], Ranchi

Exam : AIEEE, Rank : 98 percentile. Reason to opt BIT mesra is one of the best colleges in India and I had a dream of getting admission in this college.

As we all know, BIT was the first institute in India to establish a department of SPACE engineering and rocketry. So,there is no doubt on course curriculum. It is very updated and latest techniques are followed with well equipped laboratories,libraries, R&D departments etc.

Yes, BIT provides internship for some departments. Stipend and experience required for this depends on the department.e.g. for M.Tech students,it provides stipend of 15K-18K on an average.

Placements & Job opportunities are very good. Various companies come in Mersa campus for the placement ranging from companies like Microsoft to MNC like IBM, Cognizant, Tech Mahindra, Infosys etc. Some PSUs also used to come in our times like NTPC, BHEL, Power distribution companies etc. Packages usually varied on the basis of companies.

We used to have various type of celebrations in our college. In fact we did not miss even a single chance to celebrate, whether it be any technical fest,cultural fest or any other occasion. But amongst all, technical fest was the most important. Students from various colleges used to come to our campus and participated.

Scholarships are provided to some bonafide students. Loans can be easily availed. As I have already mentioned, students getting admitted here are very meritorious and also college history is very much influential enough to avail loan facility easily.

Campus life is very rocking and happening here in every aspects-in terms of fun and enjoyment as well as in terms of study and extracurricular activities. We had different types of inter college cultural and technical festivals in our campus. We also had weekly sessions for debates,GD,etc on various current topics so that we can have overall knowledge and also we can compete in our placements.

Most of the alumni of my college are in a very good position like CEO,MD,etc. of various reputed organisations. They all are very much active and always ready to help us in every aspects.

Exam structure was good,in other words not so tiring. We used to have 2 exams per semester. One was mid-term and another one final exam. Marks distribution was also cool. But it was very difficult to score good marks because teachers were very strict.

I got admission after qualifying AIEEE 2009 exam. I took part in the AIEEE counselling same year and got this college allotted in 3rd round of counselling. As soon as I got this college, I locked my option as there were 2 more rounds left and I did not want to lose the opportunity to get into BIT. Since it was national level exam and counselling, so everything was very systematic and organised.

The faculties are very much qualified and experienced one. Each and every faculty is master in his/her own specialization. Technically they are very good but in terms of social interaction, some improvement needs to be done. So overall faculty is good one.
