Remarks
I did not apply to any other college except Ramjas College, Delhi University. I did not apply for any quota as it was not needed. The first cut-off to get into Ramjas College, for B. Com honours was 99% in class 12th boards. I got admission through the second cut-off list which was 97.5%. The admission process was simple. there was no counseling day as such, we were directly enrolled in our course.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course B.com Honours because I am thoroughly interested in finance and the overall commerce stream. I want to pursue a career in finance. The faculty to student ratio is 4:35, which is pretty good, as we have got 8 teachers who are divided among 5 subjects, of which 3 subjects are taught by 2 teachers. The teachers of my college are greatly experienced, and a few of them are established, Chartered accountants. I feel, my teachers have greatly adapted to the online teaching mode and they try to be as interactive as possible to capture a student's interest. The college is highly disciplined with a strict following of the timetable. The term examinations were pretty easy to clear as they were conducted in an Open Book pattern with ample amount given in between for preparation.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee of my course in my Ramjas college is 11, 705 rupees for one year, which in my opinion is affordable for many students. There has been no hike of fee of the college in the past several years because Ramjas College is a part of Delhi University and the college cannot take decisions related to fees on its own. There are no scholarships available in the college and no financial assistance is provided to the students which is justified because the fees are already very low.
Campus Life
The annual fest is held in the month of October. In that fest, each college of the whole university is allowed to participate. There are many events, performances, and games held in that fest. There is a huge library in my college, with the availability of almost every book, be it a coursebook or not. We also have many olden days journals and preserved copies of manuscripts displayed in the library. The classrooms can fit a maximum of 100 students in one class. There is also a whiteboard, a blackboard, and a smartboard in each classroom. A few classrooms have the availability of air conditioners as well. We have great opportunities for sports and other extracurricular activities with great teachers. The college also has many societies and clubs, for example, drama, dance, literature and placement cell, etc.
