Remarks

The admission process was nice. The full process was well managed. I need 16 documents for my admission. There is less than 100 seat in lateral admission for general category students. So we need to rank between 0 to 250 in jelet to get to this university. My rank was 24 and I choose to BE in mechanical engineering as the first choice and I get mechanical engineering in 1 round seat allotment. I think this is the best college in West Bengal for an engineering student. The fees structure of this college is the lowest among all colleges in West Bengal. The Professors of this university are very good at their work and behaviour. All classes are done routine wise.

I am very interested in machines so I choose mechanical engineering in diploma and after my diploma, I got a chance to get admission to this university through the JELET exam. The faculty to student ratio was good in the university. The professors of this college was highly qualified. The exam at this college is very tough.

Internships Opportunities

Many companies like Tata, Google, Microsoft, Amazon, wells Fargo, Atlassian, synopsis, mediatech, shopee, Infosys, Samsung offer internships to the students. The stipend was good. The student did project from 3rd year.

Placement Experience

Students become eligible for campus placement from the 5th semester. There are many companies like Tata, Bajaj, Iocl, visit the campus. The highest package lies between 40 to 60 lac per year. The placement of computer science engineering is very good. The average package of the college is 9 lac.

Fees and Financial Aid

I can apply for Swami Vivekananda merit come means scholarship, national scholarship. The criteria are that I need 75 percent mark in the diploma exam. The fees structure of this college is very low I think anyone can afford it.

Campus Life

The sports life of this college is very amazing. We can play cricket, football, table tennis, volleyball etc. The library was good in the college. There were many books in the library. There are many clubs like science club, drama club etc.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

Like my main was getting to IIT which I couldn't as U couldn't clear JEE advanced.So my next option was to choose between NITS and JU.So clearly choose JU because it completes our BE in 10k whereas the fees of NITs are really high.So as I gave JEE in 2024 my jee main rank was something around 64K (95.5 percentile) and my wbjee rank was 2341 and got alloted food Technology and biochemical engineering in jadavpur university.The process to get into our college is to give wbjee and if u are a general your rank should be within 2500 to get into this premium college....Read More
