Remarks

I cleared WBJEE after passing Hs, I was ranked 6209 in the general category but my Obc-A category rank was 155 and I also obtained approximately 91% I got selected at first in Chemical Engineering dept but later decentralised counselling upgraded me to Mechanical engineering dept and right now I am doing my second year course.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is too good and there are so many faculty members and they are so helpful to students and one thing which I want to share is that our proffers are so Talented. I chose Mechanical Engineering dept because I love to study Mechanics, physics and math.

Internships Opportunities

There are many companies that offer internships and placement are given to the students according to their efficiency and skill. Now I am in 2nd year and I did not attend my campus due to a pandemic so I am not so aware of any project.

Placement Experience

The students who are in the 6th to 8th semester are eligible for campus placement. Every year several big and famous companies like Amazon, Adobe, Microsoft, PwC, Wipro, Reliance, Cognizant visit our campus and Each company offers 20-25 but the mass recruiters are CTS, TCS, Infosys.

Fees and Financial Aid

Rs 2760 per year is the course fees and hostel charge has been approximately assigned to Rs 3000 and I received Vivekananda scholarship Rupees sixty thousand in the second week of last month and I have been still waiting for OBC / Oasis scholarship of Rs 12000 which will be issued or sanctioned soon as per my expectations.

Campus Life

The campus is absolutely beautiful and suitable for students . The name of the Annual fest is Srijan and the technical fest is the same Srijan Books and journals are absolutely available in JU library Sports and sporting curricular activities on campus are massively conducted.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

Like my main was getting to IIT which I couldn't as U couldn't clear JEE advanced.So my next option was to choose between NITS and JU.So clearly choose JU because it completes our BE in 10k whereas the fees of NITs are really high.So as I gave JEE in 2024 my jee main rank was something around 64K (95.5 percentile) and my wbjee rank was 2341 and got alloted food Technology and biochemical engineering in jadavpur university.The process to get into our college is to give wbjee and if u are a general your rank should be within 2500 to get into this premium college....Read More
