Remarks
For wbjelet - 2020, the selection was made through average number basis of diploma. The result was published & my rank was 57 ( sc quota ). Then I completed my counselling process. My 3rd choice college was Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College, so in 1st counselling, I got a chance to take admission in this college. As the distance of this college from my home is so much, I was done upgradation, but in 2nd counselling, my upgradation was failed. So there was no way to take admission to the upper 2 colleges, so at last, I took admission in Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College. Now I am satisfied to be a student of this college & I also feel very proud.
Course Curriculum Overview
My dream is to be a successful mechanical engineer, so to fulfil my dream, I chose this course. In our college faculty: the student ratio is 1:12. All of our faculty completed their PhD degree. They teach us with easy process, politely & responsible. As our college is Autonomous type, so they handled our exam very strictly & questions of the exam are very standard type.
Internships Opportunities
Yes in our college Internship facilities are available. In any government industry or workshop, we can do an Internship without any cost. I also get this facility. I do a internship from Siliguri loco shed.
Placement Experience
Most of the students get placement from the 4th year but maybe a few of students can get from the 3rd year. 70 percent of students get placement from this college. My plan is to be a mechanical engineer through this college's placement, otherwise a govt job for mechanical engineers. Which companies give placement in our college , they provide highest pakage approx 7 - 8 LPA.
Fees and Financial Aid
Our tuition fees in this college are a total of 2900/ for 3 years & exam fees 1200 per semester . We get many types of government scholarships & also we can get scholarships from our college if the eligibility criteria of this scholarship can be fulfilled. Scholarships are like - svmcm, oasis, scholarships from our alumni etc.
Campus Life
Our campus is very environmentally friendly. There has a canteen facility. There have many trees & is very clean. Many programs like Biswakarma puja, Teachers day, independence day, Rabindra Jayanti, republic day, Saraswati puja etc. There have many playgrounds. Sports like - cricket, football, volleyball, badminton etc.
