Remarks

My dream college was jadavpur University, I just want got admitted in this collage and I also applied for other colleges like IEM and Kalyani but Jadavpur University is the best. I availed OBC quota and got admitted in mechanical engineering department.For the admission in Jadavpur University we have to qualify wbjee exam in which we have to score very good marks and I scored 52.01 and because of my obc certificate I got jadavpur University but in general u have to score more. In the process of counselling we have to selecf colleges and then on the basis of your marks you will get collage .

Course Curriculum Overview

Mechanical Engineering is a very interesting and real-life course. The faculty of jadavpur University is very good all the professors are very active like students. Their teaching method is very unique. The exam is not very tough.

Internships Opportunities

Amazon, pwc, Tcs , wipro and etc . In 3rd year students will prepare for their project in a proper manner and company also asks about the project of students in interview and on these basis they hire students

Placement Experience

After the 6th-semester companies will come for placement and placement of jadavpur is very famous. Many companies visit campus like google Microsoft Amazon and Maruti etc. The average package of mechanical department is 6.5 lpa

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is very low for b.tech students, almost 10000 for 4 years. There few Scholarship and freeship for students like sitaram sehjal Scholarship and etc. Collage is very cooperative they help us in each and every moment. They are very humble.

Campus Life

There are Rahat fest and Kubal fest and many fests which are very famous. Sports is interesting for Jadavpur University students and they focus on this. There are so many clubs like the science club and etc. These are run by students of jadavpur University.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel room is average type. The meal quality is very good. U have to submit a few documents and registration will be done and students travel with each other and enjoy hostel life in a proper manner. In the hostel students also play games and enjoy the life

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

Review of Jadavpur University

Like my main was getting to IIT which I couldn't as U couldn't clear JEE advanced.So my next option was to choose between NITS and JU.So clearly choose JU because it completes our BE in 10k whereas the fees of NITs are really high.So as I gave JEE in 2024 my jee main rank was something around 64K (95.5 percentile) and my wbjee rank was 2341 and got alloted food Technology and biochemical engineering in jadavpur university.The process to get into our college is to give wbjee and if u are a general your rank should be within 2500 to get into this premium college....Read More
