No, I didn't apply for any quota. The criteria for admission in cse at hmr is very easy you can bag the cse branch easily with a rank above 3 lakhs in jee mains (general category) The admission process is very smooth but you can't rely on the college to guide you through this process you have to find on your own which papers you need for admission. Even after asking they will not give you a clear cut answer.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose cse branch because I liked programming and already had quite a bit of experience in this field Faculty: students ratio is ok teacher do clear all your doubts "eventually" Some teachers are like angels but some, on the other hand, are literally devils with a temper tantrum of a nine year old. Term exams are not that hard to pass if you start studying 20-25 days before the exam. One thing wrong about colleges under GGSIPU is that you never know when they will declare the exam date sheet .
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for placement in the seventh semester. Mostly mass recruiters come in our college like TCS, Wipro, Infosys that too in pool drive i.e you will be competing with other colleges under GGSIPU. Most of the placements that you will see on the college's website are off campus and College did nothing for the students in getting that job The percentage of students getting placed is very low with the average package being 3-4 lakhs.
Fees and Financial Aid
I am not aware of the fees hike policy but they did increase the fees by 15k in the first semester those who had already paid the fees were forced to pay the arrears on very short notice. The University does offer scholarships on a merit cum needs basis in which you have to maintain a 60% overall percentage
Campus Life
I joined during the covid pandemic therefore there were no fest or tech fest at all most of the events that did happen were online and they were not that good. Most of the course books are available in the library and you get two library cards with which you can issue 2 books for up to 14 days each. There are many social groups run by students such as collegegiri cyber ART HMRITM.
