My virtual college life

I'm studying in SGTB KHALSA college which is in Delhi and comes under Delhi University. The college provides excellent educational and growth opportunities. Being one of the best colleges in the North Campus of Delhi University, the college provides many opportunities in every field possible. The cutoff for admission is real high and one should be a real good student for getting admission. There are various other ways by which one can get admissions like Sikh quota, sports quota, etc. There are at least 6 cut-offs to get admission for various courses. Further details can be found on the college site. The college provides a very good environment for students to get higher education.

The teachers are very active even when the classes are online. Every teacher tries his/her best to interact with the students and encourage them. I chose BCom Hons because i wanted to do my UG from a well-known college with good placements opportunities. Bcom Hons has three sections with 60 students in each section. The faculty is highly qualified and easygoing. They use every possible way to help students excel in every field possible even if it means going out of the box. They try to take timely exams on the chapters that are taught and the exams are based on the DU standards.

Companies like Hindustan Unilever, Accenture, etc provide internships, and the roles offered to differ on the kind of job the company wants. Projects on the company's growth financially and how can we help excel can be included.

The students can start applying for placements from their final years however they can start applying into internships from the first years itself. There are many companies that visit the campus such as Hindustan Unilever, Accenture, Wipro, etc. The no. Of offers provided is not exact depends on the need of the company. In 2019, the highest package was 28 lakhs in BCom Hons and the average was 7 lakhs. There is a high percentage of students getting placements which can be seen on the college website. My plans depend on the type of placements i receive otherwise will prepare for competitive exams.

The college fees are very affordable and it differs for different courses. For BCom Hons, it's 26900 annually which is very affordable for UG courses. The college provides support to the students with financial assistance by providing laptops at cheap rates so that students can have little help. Little knowledge about scholarships but the Job opportunities are really high in college and there are no. of companies that come for job opportunities.

There are annual fests organized in the college. However, due to the pandemic has not been able to attend the fest but the college has a history of inviting huge celebrities to the campus for students' entertainment. The fests are generally organized in the month of January. The college library has a great library and has all types of books that an individual requires for his growth. There are various sports that the college takes part in such as volleyball athletics basketball etc. The college has a drama society and various other societies.
