Pragjyotish College is on of the few colleges in Guwahati that provides Bsc Computer Science. So I had to take my Computer Science degree here. The admission process was merit based and there was no entrance exam to get admission. The minimum percentage of marks to apply for this course was 50% and maths subject in 12th class. On the counselling day, all the students were seated in a classroom and our name was called on basis of our marks starting from the students who scored highest.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose Bsc Computer Science because this subject is considered to be one of the most demanding courses these days. The faculty student ratio was around 20:1. The education qualification of our teachers is very good. We have a lot of teachers with a PHD degree and their teaching style is very good. In our college, the term exams are held on a 6 months interval and the test difficulty is average.
Fees and Financial Aid
For my course, the admission fees were around 6000. Then after 6 months, we gave 1000, ie the total fees for 1 year is around 7000. There is no scholarship or financial assistance in our college. Also, the college doesn't have placement for jobs.
Campus Life
Our college campus is quite big and spacy. We often have college functions in our auditorium which is a bit small of the whole college to fit in. The college also has a library which has a lot of books. The college does have a sports week every year, but other than that there are very few extracurricular activities.
