Mangalmay- A nice institute

Mangalmay is a nice college when it comes to management education as it organises pooled campus very often and other activities like industrial visits, quiz competitions, PD classes etc.

A gave MAT exam and scored 72.75 percentile. I found the basic things which should be there in a management institute.

Not all the things I studied is used practically but still many concepts are used in industry. All functions of business and management is studied in detail which helped to understand business of business. One can choose specialization according to their area of interest.

Yes, my college does provide internship. Some companies provide stipend also. Summer internship has to be done after 1st year. My batch mates did internship in companies like Coca Cola, Pepsi, Mahindra etc.

Our full batch was placed barring few who had their own family business and didn't want placement from college. Companies like ICICI, Max, Wipro etc. came for placement which offered jobs in different areas of specialization. Salary ranged from 2,50,000 p.a to 6,00,000 p.a.

An annual cultural program "ZEAL" is organised every year. Apart from that Fresher's party is organised for juniors and farewell party for passing out students. Also Teacher's day, Diwali and Holi is celebrated with lots of enthusiasm. Sometimes National and International conferences / seminars are organised.

Roughly one Lac per annum was charged to me at that time which is at par with other colleges. But some colleges charge heavily. Some meritorious students and SC / ST, OBC students got scholarships also.Hostel fee was apart from this fees, but not all students were hostlers.

I didn't opted for loan facility. But Yes, Mangalmay provides assistance in getting loan from various banks. Scholarships were provided.

Campus life is cool. Gender ratio was very poor. Girls were very few. Students from different parts of India were there in my batch. 1st and 3rd Sat were off and on rest Saturdays some guest lecture / workshops etc were organised. Volley ball court, cricket ground were there.

Seperate Girl's and Boy's hostels are there in campus. Rooms were available on twin sharing basis with attached Lt-bath.Cleaners were there to clean the room daily. 4 times snacks and meals are provided. Although mess food is OK OK not as good as home but not as bad as food available in PG's outside. Hostel charges are Rs. 74,000 p.a

Ours was the first batch, so there were no senior students. But Yes, we helped our juniors a lot. We didn't ragged them.

There was one sessional exam and one pre university exam taken in each semester. Computer labs were very frequent to understand basics of computer. We were asked to make power point presentations and assignments very often which kept us on our toes.

Faculty are one of the best because they are qualified (NET and / or Ph.D) experienced and are very understanding and supportive. They teach subjects according to their area of specialization. They taught us discipline,they gave practical examples from industry, takes presentation, give assignments etc.
