Government college for women (GCW) Kolar. Now it belongs to Bangalore north university prior it belongs to Bangalore University. One of the top government colleges in Kolar. Admission quota for the following process is not necessary as the admissions are based on merits, and don't bother about the marks everyone gonna get the seats after completing second PU. I belong to a bachelor (BSc) in chemistry botany zoology (cbz). Initially, when I went to the college for admission there are only a few courses like cbz, pcm, pmcs, czmi, cbbt for science students we have to opt for a package of courses. But from this year (2021) the system completed changed the students can opt their subjects like scrambling even they can take one or two subjects from commerce even if they are from a science background. All the faculties are well trained and experienced. The teaching process not only includes chalk and board, includes projectors and smart classes, visual experiments. There is no scarcity of teachers, but the problem is with the way of teaching, but don't worry there are lectures that teach better. I belong to the 2020 batch until that time there were 6 sems with 8papers totally of 3 years. It's easy to get passed if u regularly attain the classes If not You can refer to notes and books to get a pass.

There are placements available at the end of the journey Offered and recommended by the preferable company. The placement percentage starts from 75-100. Moreover, it depends on confidence and interest. The package offered by the company is around 15-30k. Major of the students prefer higher studies.

When compared to other colleges gcw offers very little as it belongs to the government. Per semester it costs around 4-5k. As long you apply for a scholarship you can get back your fees. Scholarships are like Vidhyasiri, cv Raman , minority scholarship.

Usually, they conduct all the fest with is related to college and nation including ethnics and food fest. Books are available with all the mentors with notes. Whenever the student need can get it from there. A moderately sized library with performing books that too in the limited count. There is various type of clubs, it's enormous. Aids club, NSS club, NCC club, unity club whatnot. All the sports activities are available. Like khoko, kabaddi, Basketball, volleyball, badminton, long jump, high jump, javelin throw, shot put, disc throw whatnot. Indoor includes chess, shuttle, carom, word games, quizzes etc.
