Remarks
My admission process took place on the Ghaziabad campus. The process was very smooth. There was never any kind of confusion regarding where to go for the Group exercise or the interview process. All the documentation process was completed well in advance before the start of the actual process. The volunteers from the admission committee are available and friendly to approach. As they are students from the institute, last minute guidance from them is always helpful.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum as well as the faculty is the thing I like the most about this college. In the first two trimesters, the courses are common for students in all the streams except for BFS. From the third term, students start studying subjects related to their specialization. From second year students have more and more freedom to choose electives from different branches. It allows them to explore other topics along with gaining a holistic perspective.
Internships Opportunities
The summer internship program of the institute is also good. It is given as much importance as the final placements so that students get the maximum chances to show their potential during final placements. In marketing, most companies offer a role in either sales or market research. For names of companies coming to IMT, check the IMT website.
Placement Experience
Placements at IMT are great. It is a rigorous process and one of the most stressful times during an MBA. To ensure the quality of the batch, the institute prepares the students for group discussions and personal interviews. The average package at final placements for the 2019-21 batch was approx. 12.5 lakhs per annum. The college has had a record of full placements for many years.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee of the institute is at par with most other premier b-schools, except that there is no fee structure provided by the institute. Financial assistance is easily available without any collateral, and there are a few scholarships that are merit-based as well as some which are merit -cim-need based. Campus placements are good at IMT. Many good companies regularly visit the campus. Apart from that a lot of students participate in many case studies competitions and secure PPOs from there as well. Although competitive, but it's a healthy environment as far as placements are concerned.
Campus Life
The tagline of IMT is "IMT never sleeps". There are many functional and extra-curricular clubs and committees that keep the campus academically and culturally active. The functional committees' host competitions, seminars and even bring live projects for students to gain hands-on experience. The library of the campus is a huge resource to access various business and management related literature. The campus has an e-library facility that lets students access a wide range of journals, online databases, magazines and even e-books. The IMT Ghaziabad campus is 16 acres, which is smaller when compared to the IIMs but the architecture, design and facilities compensate for the size. On the plus side, the campus is situated in the centre of the city, so it has access to a lot of hangout places.
Interview Experience
When I appeared for the IMT admission process, there was a GE-PI (Group Excercise - Personal Interview) process. In the Group Excercise, a group of 8-10 candidates are supposed to accomplish a task. There are some props available to help us. The task given to my group was to design an autonomous vehicle specific to Indian road conditions. We had 25 mins to discuss and create a prototype and 5 mins to present. This was followed by the Personal Interview round. Most of the questions asked were based on the form that candidates are supposed to fill while applying for the institute. For the anxious ones, I have not come across anyone who faced a stress interview.
