Remarks

I have cleared the WBJEE exam and through that, I got a call for counselling from the West Bengal board and through that, I got admission into BCET, Durgapur. My rank was average and in the 3rd round, I got a seat for Computer Science Engineering in the college.

Course Curriculum Overview

The exams are held on time and after every one month, and exams are of average difficulty the questions are based on basic concept application. The CA exam is 50 marks and the semester exam is 70 marks.

The companies offer different roles according to their needs from different companies. Mainly the companies require Software developer Engineer and for freshers the firstly opt for Software developer intern.

About 70 percent of the students got placed every year and some of the students opt for further studies like M Tech, MBA, etc. My plans after getting placed are that I want to work in the cooperate world.

Fees and Financial Aid

Till now many companies arrived but I have not got any job till now But I got an opportunity from the Flipkart internship program and I got selected on that program which was held in Kolkata city and every Student who got selected got paid.

Campus Life

There are many social and technical clubs in our college, Code vision, Robonixx club these are the two technical clubs of our college, and EDC cell is the technical club which gives the opportunity for the entrepreneurs and encourages them.

Hostel Facilities

At the time of admission, the option will be given to the students who want to opt for a hostel or not if the students opt for a hostel then automatically get allotted a room in the hostel with one roommate double bed with a common bathroom.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

BCET Durgapur.Good campus but bad faculty and placement opportunities.

I say this earlier. First of all my JEE rank was little bit low, so I can't get any govt college. And at that time the CSE fees in almost every private college is arround 4 lakhs. But they asked high donation. Which was not affordable by my family. So I choose this college. Also I hear all private colleges are same.we have to do everything by ourselves.
