Internships, important to get started.

We first selected the college and branch during the counselling period and once we were allotted the college and branch, we went to the campus for the next process. There we were given slots for our turn to register ourselves. Then after the entire process was completed, we were allotted a hostel based on a chit system and, that was it.

I have always been interested in computer science so I opted to pursue Computer science and engineering at NITR. The faculty to students ratio is quite good here and most of the faculty are very highly trained in their respective fields. The teaching methods of professors are also quite robust. They go through every aspect of the subject they teach. Exams also have been taken on time, given per as schedule and have been challenging. Altogether it's good.

Many companies visit NITR to offer internships. Companies like Microsoft, Barclays, Flipkart, Hotstar, MathWorks, GEP, Amazon, Accenture, Fractals and many more visit and offers internships. Projects are alloted to selected students based on their roles and experience.

From the 7th semester, students are eligible for campus placements. Before that, 5th semester students are eligible for campus internship opportunities which are handsomely paid internships by companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Barclays Hotstar and many more. More than 200 companies visit and offer 1200+ offers to students. I plan to gain some expertise in my field after I graduate working with leading companies.

The fees structure here is pretty standard. There is a tuition fee, hostel fees, very few medical fees given the fact that we have great medical assistance here. Hostel fees are also moderate and hostels are quite maintained.

We have 3 fests per year, the tech fest, the cultural fest and a summer fest. Apart from these three, we have more minor fests like garden day and stuff. Tech fest is one of the major fests at NITR which is celebrated the best. We host celebrities such as Sunidhi Chauhan and all. The library is also one of the major attractions at NITR. It has unlimited resources and is a must-go-to place for quiet and self study. The classroom is also well equipped with resources to help both the professor and the students. Sports opportunities are also huge for everyone interested with Inter hostel sports meet to Inter College as well. Club culture is also very diverse with more than 40+ clubs that cover every interest one may pursue.

Hostel facility is also quite good given the fact that we have 10+ hostels for boys and girls. For food, we have a fixed menu which provides meals covering the likes of every community and including dishes from north as well as south. A Diet plan is also considered while creating the menu. The registration process of the hostel was quite simple, we had to pick a chit that had our room number and we were allotted that room. Hostels are very affordable at NITR.
