Entrance Preview

I took admission in Mithibai after my S.S.C Exams. So S.S.C Exams were the qualifying exams. Mithibai and NM were the popular colleges in those days for Commerce Stream and I got into Mithibai.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course curriculum was set by Mumbai University. You cant say it was a very exhaustive course or the subjects which were selected were suitable for the course 100%. There was maths subject, which everyone hated. Then there was Marketing and Human Resource, now it is an important subject considering the modern day scenario, but the topics in that subject could have been much better.

Internships Opportunities

No, I am not sure whether Mithibai College Provides internship. It does however provide campus placements.

College Events

5

Our college celebrated all the events and festivals. we had our own college festival "Kshitij in that we had various events planned for three days and a glamorous evening to end the festival. We had celebrities come over and the winners of the events were announced. Also we had the awards for the best college girl and boy awards. We also had other colleges come over and participate.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee Structure was very feasible since it being an aided institution. I remember my college fees were not more than Rs.4500 per annum in any of the five years during which I was the student. For girls the fees was hardly around Rs 500 per annum since they had further aid. For OBC and SC/ST Students also the fees was less than Rs 500 per annum.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am not knowing of any scholarship, since I did not avail any as I was not that brilliant and eligible for scholarship.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus life was fun. There were many students and Mithibai being one of the biggest college in Mumbai, lots of students were there in the college. Commerce being popular choice of students in Mumbai, the campus never felt short of students. There were students from all walks of life. It was a true diversity.

Hostel Facilities

5

I have not used the hostel facility provided by SVKM, and I think that the hostel facility is not available for students studying in Commerce Stream. It is for students studying in Management Courses. So I am not aware much about the hostel fee structure or the facilities provided by the management.

Exam Structure

The exam structure is decided by Mumbai University, alteast at our time it was so. So there were four exams in a year. Two semester exams and two class test sort of. Class tests were of 50 marks and semesters were of 100 marks per subject. In class test we were supposed to score 18 to pass, out of 50 marks and in semester we were required to score 35 marks out of 100 marks.

Admission

I got admission through offline process. I applied in Gujarati Minority Quota which the college has. There are 5-6 lists put up by the college every year once the forms are filled by the students and if your name appears in the admission list, you are in. After that you are supposed to pay the fees via a Demand Draft and your admission is confirmed.

Faculty

4

The faculty of the college was highly experienced and all the teachers were very supportive. We had Micheal Vaz as our faculty, and he used to teach us Organisation of Commerce and Management of Human Resource. The experience that he holds was highly helpful while he was teaching us. Also his lectures were fun filled and interactive.

Placement Experience:

At TCSC placements are quite good as anyone. Even the SOBO colleges and Mithibai don't have placements as good as us. So this is why I always dreamt of studying here because since last 6-7 years, Thakur College placements have gone better and higher.

Remarks:

The good thing is that the college was not strict and was never forcing us to study rather it was seeing to it that it gave us proper advice and help us reach more towards my career goal. The bad part would be there were may staff which was very dull and was not kind, and no importance was given to correct their behaviour although it was evident by all.
