Remarks
The admission process was easy. You have to first enroll in WBJEE counseling and choose Government College And Engineering and Textile Technology, Berhampore. Then you have to visit the college premises and show your documents in the ongoing admission process and wait for your turn. When you get your turn they will verify your documents and ask which branch you want to choose, if the seats are available you will get your admission.
Course Curriculum Overview
I choose the Computer Science and Engineering branch because I like technology. There are many great faculties and most of them have done Masters in Computer Science and Engineering. They have great knowledge in their respective fields. There are at least 10 to 12 faculty for the Computer Science and Engineering Branch to the best of my knowledge. Semester Exams were on time usually in June for Odd Semester and in mid-November for Even Semester. Passing the semester exams in Engineering College is never easy for those who don't study the whole semester otherwise if you did it will be of no problem.
Internships Opportunities
One can apply for an internship in any company like TCS, Wipro based on his/her grades. The stipend is also good between 10 to 15 thousand. The projects are mainly about building web apps or websites, android apps.
Placement Experience
The students are eligible from their 4th year for campus placements. Many reputed companies visit the college for hire. The highest package was 8 LPA to the best of my knowledge. At the end of the 4th year, 90% of students get placed.
Fees and Financial Aid
The Fee Structure for the Computer Science and Engineering Branch in the Government College of Engineering and Textile Technology, Berhampore is Rs. 7000 per semester. There is also Tuition Fund Waiver for Financial weak Students. In Tuition Fund Waiver you can get full waive or half waive for your semester fee. For Tuition Fund Waiver you have to apply for it and show your family annual income certificate. If you got selected the maybe you half to pay half of the semester fee or none.
Campus Life
The annual fest is held before the odd semester exam and it is one of a kind. It goes on for 3 days straight. There is a great Library where we can find our coursebook and lend it for study or study in the library. The library has Computer System so if someone wants to do their projects they can use it. There are many games available in Common Room for students like carom board, chess, table tennis. There is also an annual football match held between the different seniors and juniors. There is an annual cricket match. There is an annual Volleyball match
